Hotel Arka

Good hotel next to old town. One of our rooms didn't had working lights at bathroom but it was changed quickly for nearby room. Rooms are specious and comfortable. The view from the roof is superb. Breakfast was pretty good. There is free parking in front of the hotel. If it's full then you can just leave your car keys at reception and they would move it if needed.

Apart from the hotel being in a good location it was a disappointing stay. Upon arriving at our hotel driving through the entry gate did not give off a 5 star impression. Reception staff were poor with the exception of 1 member of staff who helped us with our tv. We had asked 3 times prior without any assistance. Pool was out of order, one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. The curtains in the room let in so much light, we were awake just after 4am, as people who work in agriculture we were looking forward to a sleep in on holiday as every other day of the week we are up early. Breakfast was good

Room was comfortable. Staff were helpful and professional. Great location with easy access from road and walk into the bazaar, store, restaurants, downtown squares, etc. Love the outdoor rooftop bar with a great view of the city.

One has to judge things through the lense of Macedonia where in general hotels can be a bit eccentric. but this one is more eccentric than most. Positives are superb location right next to the old town, and huge rooms with great views and the awesome roof bar/terrace. Downsides are fading 80s style and no way this can be described as a 5 star service. Having said that most of the staff were friendly (mention to the good staff at the bar). Nice breakfast. Probably the worst thing was over soft mattresses (not good by today's standards) and the greenhouse effect of so much glass when the aircon was centrally turned off. So rooms were pretty warm. Open the windows and its noisy. Plus we were told no kettle or iron for "security reasons". Really this isnt 5 star service. But hey, overall go for the experience!

Great hotel, in a great location. The city is very walkable and this provided an excellent base for a short visit. Great view to contemplate whilst eating breakfast.

Very nice clean room. Friendly staff and very helpful. No issue at all checking in. It was perfect and stay throughout was very comfortable! Thank you for making our stay wonderful.

Average hotel. Average rooms. Service very basic. Location great, next to old town.

The front desk was excellent and very kind but the hotel requires guests to put a sign on the door if they want but clean. If it's not there, the room will not be clean. The room safe didn't work. Ordering a taxi was super complicated and took an hour every time.

The service at the hotel was disappointing. We had booked an airport pickup and the hotel asked for flight details etc. When we found out our flight may be delayed we sent an email before leaving to advise the hotel of a likely delay to our flight and we sent an URL for Skopje Airport asking them to check the latest flight status before sending the car. When we arrived (late) the reception staff made a snide comment about arriving late and the car having to wait for us. When we checked out the hotel tried to charge us twice for the airport pickup. I told the staff that I had sent an email warning them of the delay. The receptionist acknowledged the email but said that he can't be expected to check the flight status of all of his clients when arranging a airport pick up therefore we must pay twice for the delay. We did not pay for the additional pick up and raised a complaint but it took a lot argument to reach this outcome and it took some of the pleasure out of our stay in what is a lovely city. In fairness to the staff he was presumably doing his job in line with the hotel's policies. But if so that leaves an impression of service levels at the hotel - i.e. ignoring an email from a client warning of delays because it is unreasonable to have to check the flight status. It is a pity as in many ways the hotel is good. It is in a great location next to the Old Bazaar part of the city and it has great views from the breakfast and bar area. Also the breakfast was fantastic.

Too many rules. The Welcome Aboard package contains two legal size pages of small print of rules including no washing clothes in the sink and no outside food, even though ony breakfast is served. My first two days, I wanted to eat breakfast outside on the terrace. The waiters refused to serve me. Reason; "not our protocol." Food from the buffet, coffee, and cigerettes were allowed, but they refused to walk the extra ten meters with the breakfast plate. I finally got them to do as I asked, but I had to start the first two mornings fighting with hotel staff.

Very clean and within walking distance of main attractions

Modern and fancy hotel in nice and walkable area. Beautiful rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the city. Within a short walk from all the main attractions in town (max 10min by foot)

They have a free guarded parking. But the pool is just a decoration in the restaurant. The restaurant where you also get breakfast has a good view.

Nice hotel in the most convenient location, right in the centre of the old town. Provides great views of the old town as well as other main attractions of Skopje from the rooftop terrace.

The hotel was good but it was improved greatly the customer service of the two very helpful gentleman receptionists, Stoyan and Gregor, who helped us so much and couldn’t be more hospitable, they are a credit to the hotel.

The staff is fantastic, get all the help I need with everything, including Covid 19 required tests that they arranged on premises. Every member of the staff was very helpful. The hotel itself is it is very clean and well maintained in most areas, but a bit odd: glass bathrooms, no towel hooks and retractable showers you should hold in your hand all the time. The area around the hotel is not very clean (but feels safe though) and noisy.
