Dreams Playa Bonita Panama - All Inclusive

I booked this trip 10 months in advance based solely on its high rating, without reading any reviews. As the date approached, I finally started looking through them—and I’ll be honest, the negative feedback had me seriously considering changing our accommodations. I’m so glad I didn’t. The property was absolutely stunning, and the staff went above and beyond—truly exceptional service. While the food wasn’t five-star gourmet, it was far from the awful descriptions I’d seen; everything we had was enjoyable. The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and didn’t feel outdated in the slightest. I’m genuinely surprised by the number of negative reviews this resort has received. Dreams Playa Bonita exceeded my expectations, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. My only minor complaint is that the room curtains aren’t blackout, so the sunlight comes in fairly early. If you’re a light sleeper or like to sleep in, I’d recommend bringing an eye mask. Without a doubt, I’d stay here again.

Absolutely beautiful! The property and the layout were just breathtaking. Staff was phenomenal! Most were able to speak enough English for you to ask or say what you needed. I would definitely recommend this place

Food poisoning

We stayed for 6 days in April. Resort was lovely but didn't like the fact it was kind of hilly. Well maintained grounds and the staff was courteous. Numerous pools and had one section reserved for adults only. We've been to numerous all inclusive resorts and the overall quality was good. The food on the buffet could have been hotter but the French and Italian restaurants were excellent. The ocean water wasn't that pretty blue water you see in Cancun but it was very calm and swimmable. Overall a solid B rating...good time but won't return.

Restaurants closed due to group. We ate in conference room. Food was sub par and took forever for service. My wife was gluten free and her allergy wasn’t taken serious and she actually never got served for 2 meals. Part time maid service and all the common areas need a good cleaning. Every area was under staffed. We have traveled a lot to all inclusive resorts and this was the most disappointing by far. We will never return.

I thought the staff was amazing, and the grounds, lobby and public areas were well kept. They can improve on the quality of food which was a hit or miss most days. My biggest gripe was my preferred room was very worn & needed fixing up. There were what looked like rust spots on the Mirror, cracks & discolorations on the walls/ceilings and the bottoms/edges of the door were damaged/scratched pretty bad.

The design of the property was unique. I like the quiet and cleanliness. The adults only preferred areas were excellent.

Pros: The staff was very friendly and I found the property to be clean and kept up with. Cons: They had the buffet and 2 other restaurants. The food was okay, the food at the buffet was repeated most days. It was hard to get a full meal at the buffet because the food wasn’t always great and the service at the other 2 restaurants was extremely slow. You would sit and wait at least one hour before the food came out. If you are looking for entertainment this is not the place to go. I believe they offered aerobics for about 10-15 mins each day and either bingo or karaoke in the evening and nothing else. The entertainment team consists of one person in the morning/afternoon and 2 people in the evening. If you are looking to go somewhere to relax book this place, you’ll get a lot of relaxation here.

Like: Food in different restaurants, buffet, drinks, cocktails, different pools, billiards, disco after 11 pm and lovely personal. Dislikes: Consider traffic at rush hours from airport to hotel and viceversa, no ubers at night, beach is full of rocks.

Everything was close to the room. Nice size pools as well. What I didn't like was the fact that the beach water wasnt very swimmable, not enough local dining experience within the resort, even though the restaurant was fine. Overall, it was a pleasant vacation.

This place was an absolute disaster. Nothing — and I mean nothing — was as promised. No food, no proper service, and not a single attempt from the staff to make things right. Instead of helping, they just asked pointless questions and acted like we were the problem for expecting basic services. It was insulting. We paid for a resort experience and got a mess. I’ve never felt so let down on a trip. Total waste of time and money — avoid this place at all costs.

I thought the customer service was great with all staff, and rooms were clean. Disappointed with the limited food option and the early closing hours of the pools and preferred lounge.

The check-in process was a breeze. The hotel grounds were well maintained, but the room was just average. The only bummer was that our balcony needed to be cleaned as it was crawling with bugs and insects. There are only two bars on the resort: the main bar and the pool bar. The pool bar closes at 6 pm, and the main bar closes at 11 pm. The service at the main bar was great thanks to Jorge but trying to get a drink at the pool bar was frustrating. After 10 pm, there’s no entertainment, so you will definitely have to leave the resort if you want entertainment or to party. This resort was about 20 minutes from Casa Viejo. Ubers was super affordable to get into the city. The food was a total letdown. There are only four restaurants, and the Italian restaurant was the only decent one. We had to leave the resort multiple times to get food. Oh yea, don’t even think about going to the Oceans Seafood Restaurant. The food was terrible. Worst food restaurant on the resort. The only saving grace was the room service, which was pretty decent and probably better than some of the restaurants. It took about 40 minutes after ordering. I would say overall, I had high expectations for this dreams resort since I’ve stayed at Dreams resorts in the past. In my opinion, I wouldn’t recommend you stay at this property. The money you spend to stay here is definitely not worth it.
