Great hotel. Our second visit. The dinner is of a very high standard, facilities great and great place to go to relax for a night of two.

Nice hotel, excellent service, bar with pool table which was nice in the evening while sipping our glass of port. Only thing that we didn't really like was the private pool. Guess it hadn't been used in a while because it was filthy. Other than that everything was good.

Food was very poor quality at the hotel and little selection available. Our dinner was badly seasoned, the onion on the cod fish was extremely burnt. The deserts are clearly not home made and purely industrial. We order a wine bottle and not only the waiter brought the bottle opened, we are unclear if the wine we ordered was the wine served. Regarding the parking lot, there’s a chimney fuming all night, my car was covered in ashes in the morning. I’m not coming back to this hotel, and it’s such a shame because the location is beautiful.

Heaven on earth! Lots of Peace & Quiet!

Everything it's great but still to much plastic as the bottle for shower and plastic cups in the room and the exercise room. Swimming pool towels are old with stains.

The property mentions there is no front desk, however, there is one and it made me safe to know that someone was there 24/7. The property itself is beautiful, quiet, and clean. It’s location is the only downside since you have to drive through some sketchy back roads to reach it. It is safe to say, though, the drive is worth it. The room came with a everything needed, it was clean, and I really loved how eco-friendly everything was! The staff was nice as well.

We stayed at Hotel Rural Vale Do Rio for the first half of our honeymoon and it was just perfect. The hotel is on a large and well-maintained site but the hotel itself is small - just 29 rooms. This makes it a very special and exclusive experience. The staff knew who we were without us having to quote our room number all the time. The hotel is in a very rural location and it is absolutely peaceful here - perfect if you just want to relax and get away from it all. The room was extremely well presented and comfortable with a great shower room (best shower we have ever used!) and a nice balcony. The breakfasts were amazing and for just a few euros tray charge you can have a full breakfast delivered to your room. All the staff were exceedingly polite and respectful but also friendly. Our flight was late and we didn't arrive until nearly 3am (having let the hotel know we'd be late arriving), and then didn't emerge from our room until 4pm the next day, and no-one turned a hair! We were the only English couple staying here but the majority of staff spoke reasonable English. The onsite indoor pool is lovely and leads onto a nice outdoor space with sunbeds for relaxing. We also had a massage in the spa which was excellent. The onsite restaurant was superb - the first meal we had here was without doubt one of the best meals I have ever eaten - and the service in the restaurant was also utterly first class. There is ample parking on the hotel site.

Nice countryside hotel

Muy buena estancia. Personal amable, espacios cómodos, muy buen desayuno.

El lugar es únicamente para descansar, sin salir de allí. El acceso es un tanto complicado y por “carreteras” muy secundarias. Las toallas no las han cambiado y puesto nuevas, sino doblado las mismas que había (alguna sucia después de un afeitado) No considero que deba tener 4 estrellas, 3 máximo y por el entorno y cargador de coches eléctricos… sino sería de 2 estrellas

El hotel es encantador, a quien le guste la naturaleza y el silencio es su hotel. Tuvimos un problema con el aire que yo hubiese solventado de otra manera, ha sido lo mas incómodo de la estancia. Por lo demas lugar perfecto para desconectar
