The Tarbet Hotel

The hostess was amazing. We ate in the dining room for desserts and drinks and then had breakfast the next morning. Everything was delicious. Room had an excellent view and was very clean.

Hotel and staff were lovely, could not fault anything. Amazing location and food was also, fantastic. However, we were on a 2 night DBB rate and upon arrival we asked about the dinner, what does it include. Been to hotels previously who had different allowances for dinner we thought we would ask. We were told starter, main and sweet. Again, asked before ordering dinner and stated we were in DBB anything off the menu, which we were told yes by a different staff member. After the meal we were presented with the full dinner bill and when questioned we were told that it was a £25 allowance per person by the third member of staff, who kindly delt with it quickly. Second evening…. From the 4th member of staff who we mentioned it too told us it was £20 not £25. As you could imagine, this all felt a bit strange, no one seemed to know. When checking out, we had supplements on our bill which no one seemed to know what they were for. We paid for all our drinks as we went along apart from one round which we signed for to be put on the room. The staff were lovely and sorted it all out however, it’s just off putting and we weren’t the only ones at check out having problems with things on our bill we knew nothing about.

Lovely property across the road from the Loch. Our room was very spacious with a view of the Loch. Comfortable bed and nice shower. We had breakfast and dinner and both were nice. Staff were very friendly and happy to help.

Room was very nice and clean.The service in the bar was generally good, although only one member of staff to.provide bar service and waitress service so at busy times considerable delay. All food was served in the bar area. Breakfast menu was ok but dinner was very limited. The menu was available from lunch until 8pm so if you didn' t want chips, burgers etc there was only rissotto or fish pie. Food was also quite expensive. We have used this hotel before but this will be the last time!!

Not a great experience. No hot water. Room freezing cold. Still wet paint in the room which was extremely unpleasant. The other room - the bathroom door was locked so could not gain access. Left at 7am to find another hotel. No one on the front desk to be able to discuss our issues with.

Fantastic location with great views of Loch Lomand. Room was clean and well equipped. Staff in all areas of the hotel were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.

Lovely overnight stay on our way to Mull. Staff lovely and friendly. Food was lovely although it was a limited menu

We really enjoyed our stay, the staff were very helpful and pleasant. The food and service, excellent. The bedroom, comfortable and we had a beautiful view over Loch Lomond.

The building is elegant especially the interior woodwork. The staff very helpful and friendly.

The staff were superb. Our room was a bit cold and the reception staff immediately moved us to a warmer room. It was nice that the restaurant had a healthy option of the broth soup which was delicious. Really impressed that you pay staff living wage - well done.

Hotel was ok, room a bit small but otherwise not too bad. Some marks , stains in our bathroom were a bit urgh.

What a wonderful hotel! It was nice and clean, the rooms were a great size, everyone was so friendly and helpful, the dinner was delicious and right next to the beautiful lock! I really recommend this place, a great experience had by myself, my wife and our two dogs.

First impression - from the outside of the hotel - we were a little concerned that maybe we had made a mistake booking this hotel but once inside the Tarbet our initial thoughts were forgotten about Yes - it is a little dated inside but the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the food served makes the stay worthwhile Views of Loch Lomond - amazing

Beautiful and historical, and wonderful location. The bar and restaurant staff were exceptional, and the evening meal delicious.

Good hotel for the price, room was a good size and the restadaunt was a reasonable price as well, we were also given a free upgrade, would stay again :)

Beautiful old building. Lovely staff. Convenient area. As with any old building there’s some quirks but nothing that impacts the comfort of the stay
