Altafulla Mar Hotel

Great spot, a bit pricey but nice hotel and lovely area

We found this place bt accident and were only going to stay one night. The town the people and especially the this hotel and staff were amazing. We ended up staying five days. Thank you so much for all the wonderful memories.

Really enjoyed the ambience, felt like an oasis. Staff very helpful and friendly. Good location and nice views from our balcony. Would definitely return

Great place to stay. Very convenient for beach and many restaurants and bars. Staff super friendly. hotel spotlessly clean. Nice pool area and plenty of sun beds. If I was being picky the only criticism I would have is that we got a voucher for a welcome drink. In all the other hotels on this trip we were offered a glass of caca so expectations were high! Turns out it is just orange juice with grenadine so manage your expectations! Overall thiugh a really terrific place to stay and would highly recommend it!

A really nice option if you plan to visit Altafula

This hotel, is excellent, it is ideally located, close to a beautiful, beach, and many great restaurants. It is a great hotel, to travel, to Tarragona, or Sitges. The staff, are really friendly, the rooms are excellent, and the pool, is excellent. There, is a choice of 3 restaurants in the hotel. The buffet, breakfast, was really good also.

A lovely, friendly hotel. Superb location, 5 min walk to the beach and on the main square - but you weren’t aware of the noise at all. The breakfast buffet had good options for gluten free diets as well as anything you could possibly fancy! My boys thought it was one of the highlights of the day. The pool was family friendly - a little too many young children for us but it was so close the the beach that it wasn’t an issue. (And there was an adult only pool in the roof if you had certain rooms - unfortunately our tweenagers didn’t quite fit into either camp) There were also activities and entertainments if you wanted to join in but it was subtle enough that they weren’t in your face. We’d definitely go back and stay there. It was a lovely town with a good atmosphere. Very few English families and you should make a little effort to speak Catalan or Spanish. The beach is beautiful, sandy and clean. The sea is warm but very wavy when we were there, my boys loved it! At the other end of the beach here’s a Roman villa that is open to look around and has lots of information. Up the hill is the ‘old town’ that is definitly worth an explore as well - if the heat allows! It was also really easy to get the train there from Barcelona airport. (Change at Barcelona-Sants then it’s just over an hour) and it was less than a 5 min walk to the station so we were able to discover lots of the local area. Tarragona is fantastic for Roman ruins! We clearly enjoyed it!

Lovely hotel but failed to meet our expectations of a 4 star. 1 night might be ok but 4 was too many here. Pros - lovely coastal village with history - large pool with sun-beds & lots of other outside seating - large selection at breakfast & usually restocked - pay to use rooftop over 18s pool with free water - token for free juice at bar on arrival - family friendly - front desk staff helpful for organising taxis/trains etc Cons - No pool towels available any of the 4 days we asked - No early check in - No shampoo or conditioner or any extra amenities in room so along with decor it felt very basic like a 3 star hotel - No coffee maker or kettle in room - Asked for an iron & was given a broken one - A lot of guests & very noisy! Rooms not sound proofed, with room doors banging at night & kids running & screaming around the pool & at breakfast. - Don’t go to breakfast too late as no tables available inside by 9.45/10. - Despite no other apparent covid restrictions booking required for gym & no gym slots were available our whole stay! - Daily charge of €9 pp for premium level rooftop pool seems steep. We paid one day to use it & found a guy smoking & later a family brought in a young child - both not supposed to be allowed. Didn’t seem to be monitored & no toilets up there. - Parking extra also.

Buffet offered a great fresh selection of food. Staff super helpful, So very disappointing that pool closed so early in the evening

The check in was very smooth, hotel rooms clean and large bed. Pool was fabulous, easy to get a sun bed and swim at any time of the day. Bar staff attentive. Breakfast had loads of choice and suited all our needs. Def recommend this hotel.

It had all the basic needs we needed, big room, crib for the baby, clean, swimming pool and dinning opportunity in the hotel. The staff is friendly, however slow to respond to phone or WhatsApp. The parking is a minus, it's very hard to drive in and out as it's one entrance only and doesn't feel safe, you have to go through a different entrance first to reach the elevator. Still we see it as a minor thing in the overall stay there.

Had a lovely stay, only for one night while we waited for our beach side apartment. Staff were great, they could not do enough for us. We were upgraded to a better room which was lovely. We would highly recommend, and will definitely be going back.

Loved everything about the hotel & brilliant location. Exceeded expectations. Staff were super helpful, kind & friendly. Very very clean everywhere & breakfast was excellent. The only snag was the air con in my room kept failing. This was always rectified by reporting it but a nuisance

This was a fantastic holiday. The hotel was clean and staff were absolutely brilliant. The only downsides was the room was small for a family of four once you put the beds in the room. I would say there was not enough storage for clothes. The hotel also say they do babysitting/childminding service. This is the kids club which operate during the day in two time slots. I asked whether they do babysitting service in the evening however this service they do not provide. Apart from this, this hotel is highly recommended and I am coming back with my family. I was extremely impressed with the level of service.

The staff are very nice and friendly and rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast buffe is wonderful.

Beautiful hotel with great staff. Check in and check out were a breeze. The hotel is a short walk from the beach and restaurants.

Great hotel. Modest room equipment for a 4*. Two twin beds instead of a queen bed. Minibar only stores two tiny bottles of water

Beautiful hotel, sleek, modern furnishings with excellent facilities and professional, efficient staff. We particularly loved the outside area, very comfortable outdoor furniture great for lounging with friends around the very nicely kept and pretty gardens adjoining a lovely pool. Excellent choice at breakfast (although did find some of the ‘hot’ breakfast items were lukewarm and the English breakfast tea was an acquired taste), would have liked the provision of beverage making facilities in the bedroom, which were very well presented with comfortable beds and lovely bathrooms. One of the nicer hotels we have recently stayed in and so close to a beautiful and quiet promenade/beach and picturesque old town void of commercialisation.

Faultless in every way. Great setting in a quiet spotless town! 👍
