Caleta Dorada

We really enjoyed the food—there was a great variety every day, with plenty of fresh fruit and salad options to suit all tastes. There was always something for everyone, which made mealtimes easy and enjoyable. We stayed in a two-bedroom bungalow which was spacious and comfortable. One bedroom didn’t have any electric sockets, just a light, which was a bit inconvenient, but overall the space worked well for us. Fresh towels were provided regularly, and the maid came in every other day to make up the beds, clean the floors, and tidy the bathroom, which kept everything feeling fresh. The splash pool and baby pool were a definite highlight for our 18-month-old—perfect for little ones to enjoy safely and splash about. The location was very convenient—just a short 10–15 minute drive from the airport. Although the shuttle service took a while (we were one of the last to be dropped off), we hired a car for the final few days and found it much easier, especially with the option to return it directly at the airport. The hotel was close to a small commercial centre with bars, a supermarket, and a lovely children’s play area that we used daily. The main town was just a 10–15 minute walk away, with the beach another 5–10 minutes beyond that. The beach itself was beautiful, and we really appreciated the clean public toilets, which were well maintained by an on-site attendant. Overall, it was a great choice for travelling with a toddler.

Stayed last year and really enjoyed it so booked again. This time was very disappointed. We had cockroaches in the room. Told reception and no one came to clean. Meal times was like a school canteen both quality of the food and the bedlam of the amount people.

The hotel is well located but it really needs a upgrade. The room we were in is "renovated" but the floor was all puffy from humitity and also the doors could barely close because of uneven floors, The cleaning lady did not come to clean until day 4 and did the worst job ever ( i did let the hotel know but they did not send anyone to do a better job) no new sheets, didnt take any trash and i am sure she only cleaned the toilet it self... The aircon did not work in the bedroom. If you are looking for all inclusive with entertainment for kids this is not the place. The main pool is soooo cold it is barely usable. My kids love the ocean that is cold but this was tooo much. The pool tables really need a upgrade and the stick were leaving little cuts all over the fingers. The playroom downstairs was really dirty, and no supervision so the kids are spilling food and drinks everywhere. The shows in the evening where no "shows" just kareoki or disco. I will not be coming back to this hotel.

The bungalows had been done up- pleasant enough and despite aspects looking rushed it was adequate. Food choice was limited in terms of main dishes, especially at lunchtime. Breakfast was ok, not one of the best, but ok- however the chef seemed to only want to cook a couple of fried eggs at a time, despite a long queue forming, which was frustrating. I personally wouldn’t return due to the not feeling completely safe. Although our bungalow locked properly, I was still aware of previous reports of break ins. After seeing an obviously local man loitering around the complex at midnight, it put me more I’ll at ease. The pool area is lovely - however I have seen a property for sale online that states it has access to this pool and the facilities which seems odd- and possibly why locals hang around..

Hotel was clean, plenty of options for drinks and plenty of sun loungers. Would return

Room wasn’t cleaned for our 5 night stay, no clean towels provided. Non of the pools are heated. Beds are camp style. Food very poor.

It was ok. People had rooms broken into in other apartments

Staff are amazingly hard working. Last year we had an amazing Christmas Day Dinner this year you were restricted to one hour time slots so barely had time to have three courses. Overall good holiday

Great family holiday. Good value for money.

Shower in bathroom floods and therefore flooring is gets very wet and the floor tiles lifted/raised. Rooms are spacious and good size. All rooms are bungalows however a decent size slope/hill to walk which may challenge some people. Plenty of sun loungers around pool - no need to reserve. Staff all friendly and welcoming. Not much variety of evening entertainment

The only downside was drinking out of paper cups.

Has all the necessities for a family holiday being very good value.

The two bedroom bungalow we stayed in was fine. We had a kettle and fridge and clean towels every other day. We were in C block which was great as we were very close to the pool, slides and entertainment. Breakfast was fab! Self service beer/soft drinks. Great bargain stay very good value for money!

Had a great time in Caleta Dorada I looked at the reviews and some were negative, but I honestly don't know why. I couldn't fault the place and the staff were lovely. I would definitely go back again.

You get what you pay for. Clean and tidy and food was ok, but the temperature of the food was not warm unless tou were 1st in!!! Resort is on a hill and i am glad we hired a car.

Freshly updated property, B2 was in a block of 3 which was ideal quiet & private. Property is no more than 3 stars but offers everything needed for a comfortable stay.

The property is spread out over a fairly large area. But we knew this before we came. Yes you have to queue sometimes for meals but the staff clear the tables and accommodate you asap. The food is replenished regularly and it is a buffet. The rooms are clean and cleaned throughout the stay. More water stations around would be helpful. As a coeliac I had to be extra careful with what I ate there were no gluten free deserts apart from ice cream and jelly. However I am in the minority. Overall as a family we had a happy holiday.
