This was a fun hostel stay. Our garden floor private room with bath made efficient use of space with a chic urban decore vibe. Loved the walk-in shower. The building appears to have been a boarding house/hotel from the early 1900s and many of the architectural features have been preserved with modern amenities as needed. Communal kitchen has restaurant grade stove and two double fridges. Only downsides are parking (none) as expected in downtown SF and pm noise factor also to be expected in a hostel environment (still not complaining!).

GREAT hotel! I almost hesitate to tell people how great it is because I don’t want it to get too busy, lol. Small, clean, quiet, updated rooms with bath, really great hostel amenities- kitchen, tv room, work room, patio. Really comfortable and convenient place to stay at a reasonable price.

It doesn't get more convenient than this little hotel. I book it periodically for business in SF without breaking the bank. It definitely has a hostel vibe to it, but I don't mind it at all, and except for the pigeons, ot is very quiet.

Surprisingly modern and clean room and amenities. Although, shower water temp was variable and the water had a tendency to leak from the shower tub onto the bathroom tile floor.

Very disappointing stay, I was in a mixed dorm and as an only female, there were 5 other men who were unclean and sleeping naked. The floor was sticky and there was no air conditioning or ventilation in the room. I ended up leaving after 1 night and getting a hotel. The surrounding area also feels unsafe as there are pockets of unhoused people just few minutes away (like hundreds of them all gathered ). This is not the fault of the hostel but their reviews don’t accurately reflect their place (seeing that they bribe people into giving 10 star reviews, as written in their bulletin board). Good things were they had a luggage storage and the bedsheets were clean so if you are ok with very cheap place for 1 night it’s fine but anything more and it’s not ideal.

Was very convenient to The Masonic where I saw a show. FYI: You just have to walk up a hill to the venue. Only thing was that I wish I knew I needed cash $20 for the room key. Then hold your ID till you give them cash. They give the cash back after you returned the key when checking out. Room was cheap and the shower was nice. I would stay there again.

Check in was easy enough. Room was comfy, and clean. All amenities I'd expect, and it was great! Only big issue was paper thin walls, and not the noise from others but at around 6-630am there was this loud humming noise that was constant the two days we were there. Loud enough to wake us up, and keep us up. Otherwise, decent little hostel.

Our pillows were hard but we survived. Mirror was streaky and therefore I think room was not cleaned properly. But overall was a good stay.
