Candlewood Suites LOUISVILLE - NE DOWNTOWN AREA by IHG

Room smelled damp and dank when we first walked in. Tub wouldn’t drain. After notifying two separate staff members we left for the concert only to return 8 hours later to standing water in the tub. Upon notifying a third staff member we decided we were done and ended up checking out around 1:30 in the morning.

Not comfortable pillows, ended up sleeping badly and pinching a nerve in my shoulder blade. Also was needing to get ready for a wedding, my keys weren’t working (neither of them) and no one was at the front desk for almost 45 minutes.. literally a wedding I needed to get ready for

Nice property, comfortable. Tv was wonky and difficult to watch.

Nothing is within walking distance

We travel frequently and have never had a peaceful night sleep as we have at CandleWood Suites.

Everything was great!!!, quiet besides tornado sirens going off

Booked a room here early one afternoon when I was exhausted and needed to get off the road for some sleep.

Hotel was nice, the lady at the front desk was very nice and even offered some free water which was nice after driving all day. It’s close to the interstate so great for getting back on the road without traffic.

Great environment, staff and well-made rooms, complete with everything that was needed.

The heating register in our room made very loud noise everytime the blower turned on making it nearly impossible to get any sleep. You could hear it all the way down the hall from our room. It was very disappointing.

Just a pleasant stay.

This hotel is not really downtown so just be aware of that. However it is easy to get to and free parking. It was a spacious room it was very clean had everything we needed. The only drawback was the shower would not maintain hot water it would have some for a bit and then went lukewarm.

Stayed during snowmaggedon 2025, stay was prepared. Had check in ready by 9am for workers leaving the hospital. Made cookies several times a day ,, clean, nice

Great place clean big rooms

Upon arrival I was very impressed with the hotel and room, my main issues were the bed and pillows were uncomfortable. The tv and outlets did not work periodically throughout my stay. The fix was to every two hours, flip the breaker that is in the room. The microwave did not work and refused to heat up food. The cookware was badly cared for. The ice maker was brilliant at making noises but not making ice. The freezer and dishwasher had a horrible smell. The only upside was the gym and free packets of hot chocolate. From what I paid my stay was horrible. Outside of the hotels control: loud neighbor upstairs and a woman using all of the machines for the laundry.

Everything was clean & neat. Location was very convenient

Room was clean but A/C wouldn’t adjust (stayed @ 77°), broken cabinet doors, shower/tub would produce about 50% thru shower head. Fire alarm went off @ 9p and had us outside for a bit. Price is good but temper expectations. Staff were all very nice (we didn’t voice any concerns either).

Surrounding area felt decently safe, but the building itself was sandwiched between two inactive construction sites and was dark/gloomy. Inside seemed like management hadn't invested a dime in the place since the 80s. There were bags of trash visible behind the lobby counter, the room's shower did not function properly, all fixtures were run down, and breakfast was not provided. Overall, we expected A LOT more from a property rated 9 that cost over $300 per night. Feeling super mislead by the Expedia listing, which clearly used outdated photos (I.e. building sign pictured wasn't even the same). Thankfully, we only had to endure this place for a one-night stopover during our cross-country road trip, so we survived. The following night we stayed at a Marriott that cost half the price, was clean, and had all the amenities we expected. Lesson learned. Only reason I'm not giving this place the lowest rating possible is because of the kind staff who checked us in/out. Holding out hope that they find a way to escape this dump.
