Hampton Inn Decatur

They are doing some improvement of the place.

The facility was under renovations. I was not aware of the renovations when I booked the room. We had to change rooms when we found the bathroom sink had dirty water coming up through the drain. By the time I got a new room the water was running out of the sink and onto the bathroom floor. Apparently someone on the renovation crew left a valve open or closed causing a backup onto our bathroom floor.

They were in the middle of renovations. Our room was done , but the halls were a mess tools and sweeper on the hall. Fitness center was closed. Breakfast was a joke. Not like the other Hampton Inns we have stayed!

Let me preface this to say we have stayed here several times in the past and have had an extremely comfortable stay. This time was different because they were under renovation. Actually the hotel should have been closed until finished. We were moved 3 times to another room. There were no chairs, no phone and no alarm clocks in any of the rooms. There were no drawers. The extra lock on the door didn’t work. They were just incomplete. There were workers all over the hotel. One worker knocked on our door and we told them room was occupied. Another worker just opened the door without even knocking. Good thing we had the latch out to stop it from opening completely. They just seemed disorganized. Working helter skelter. So obviously it shouldn’t have been open for guests. Now the front desk staff were very accommodating, friendly and helpful. They were aware of our problems and did make very satisfactory adjustments to our bill which we appreciated. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast offerings were great. Just as it has been in the past. So I can’t recommend staying here during renovations. It was very good before and maybe it will be again after they are done.

The place is nice, quiet for the most part. Its currently under renovation. Breakfast was nice and a variety of options.

The place is being remodled & it seens to be in disarray everywheere.

Even though the property was being renovated the noise wasn’t to bad and the property looked and smelled clean!!!!

The staff and property appearance was great. Although the service was great the hotel could stand for some renovations.

I always try to stay at a Hampton Inn when traveling. Nice amenities and comfortable rooms. This Hampton Inn has been at this location for decades but had been recently updated. The area around the hotel is just ok, but next visit I will most likely stay in the much nicer Madison/Huntville area

Good stay but had a squealing noise from the AC/ heater that was very annoying all night

Nothing it was filthy hair in bed, dust on everything mold and dust coming from the walls.had to check out as they had nothing else and mutliple other guests checking out due to same issue
