Holiday Inn PLAINVIEW-LONG ISLAND by IHG, an IHG Hotel

When I pulled up you can clearly see it is rundown. When I walked through the hallway to get to my room it was not the cleanest. My room was clean until I saw roaches. I left the hotel early showed the women at the desk the roach and checked out. I emailed everyone for a partial request no one has actually done anything about it.

The shampoo dispenser was broken and there was no aerator on the sink faucet. I mentioned it when checking out but she was not at all apologetic and didn't really seem to care. The bartender/waiter in the lounge on Sunday night was great

The room was clean and comfortable. Check in was easy and staff were friendly.

Accommodations was lovely. Room Service did a wonderful job.

I travel often and try to give places the benefit of the doubt, but this Holiday Inn in Plainview was easily one of the most uncomfortable hotel experiences I’ve had. While the room itself was relatively clean and the amenities were ok, the overall environment felt off and unsettling from the moment I checked in. The hotel gave off serious motel vibes, and there seemed to be a population of long-term guests who made the atmosphere feel less like a typical hotel and more like a halfway house. I don’t know the full story, but something didn’t feel right. I actually received a call from the front desk asking, “Are you OK?” — not “Is your room OK?” or “Do you need anything?” — just “Are you OK?”, which really caught me off guard and confirmed my gut feeling that they’ve had situations in the past. There were loud, disruptive guests every night, including men yelling on the phone in the hallway and people aggressively slamming doors. I never once felt at ease here, and safety is a basic expectation when booking a hotel. Even checkout felt strange. Hospitality staff walked by tapping on my window early in the morning, which I suspect was a passive way to wake me up before 11am. I’ve seen this happen at other hotels too — it’s an unspoken tactic to get people out sooner, and it’s unprofessional. Again, while the room and amenities were serviceable, the feeling of being there was not. I didn’t feel comfortable or safe, and that’s something no decent hotel should overlook.

When we returned to our room after our family event tit was very warm in the room. It was after midnight and i called the front desk to let them know the AC was not working. I was told that there was nothing that could be done and all the rooms had problems. It was the abolute worst nights sleep we have ever had! There were no exterior windows to open and it was 76 in the room. The staff was apologetic in the morning and Expedia got me a refund butni wont go back there again.

It was definitely very clean, however, all the rooms are interior rooms and it's as though you are in a box

Had no problems with our stay of two nights.

Stayed here for a wedding in Huntington. Air conditioning was broke so we sweated trying to get ready. Also the rooms have no windows so it’s very claustrophobic plus it’s very small. Never coming back!!!

The lobby and overall property conditions were good. The room assigned was clean and good amenities. Overall room was on smaller side

I have stayed here many times and it never disappoints. The staff are excellent. The bartender is excellent as well
