Motel 6 Carlsbad, CA Beach

Fine stay, not that close to beach and very small room. Staff was so kind and patient

The location is conveniently close to legoland and the beach. You get what you pay for... all night door slammings, banging, and yelling of other guest a few doors down sounded like it was in our room.

The area of the hotel seemed well and there is security in the parking lot. The staff was nice.

The pool was clean

My stay at Motel 6 (Room 121) was extremely disappointing. The towels appeared dirty and not properly cleaned. Basic amenities were lacking - only a bar of soap provided with no shampoo, lotion, or body wash. Most concerning were the roaches I found in the room. The constant noise made it impossible to sleep, and the bed quality was poor. This location is definitely not suitable for families. Would give 0 stars if possible. Look elsewhere for your accommodation needs.

nice clean hotel but the rooms don't have microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer and towels need to be replaced. Great location, 15 min walk to the ocean.

Staff that checked me in was very helpful & pleasant. On the other hand, there was no fan or AC in the room which made it hard to sleep in the summertime because it was too warm to sleep comfortably. I had to go buy my own fan for the following nights. The place was pretty clean but I found a a handful of long black hair (I have medium length lighter brown hair). It was on the bathroom floor as if they didn’t sweep or mop before I arrived. Overall it was okay but could have been better.

Disappointing Stay I stayed at this hotel recently, and unfortunately, my experience was far from positive. The room was extremely small, with hardly any closet space. The beds were very hard and lumpy, making it difficult to get a comfortable night’s sleep. Additionally, there was a faint odor in the room that I had to keep spraying Lysol to manage. With four people in the room, we had very little space to move around. It felt cramped, and we were basically on top of each other the entire time. To make matters worse, shortly after checking in, we discovered three bugs in the room. Two were likely water bugs, but one was a larger bug that was in the sink. We turned on the hot water, and it eventually went down the drain. I went to the front desk to ask if they had a known bug issue, and all I got was a "What room are you in?"—no apology, no offer for a new room, an upgrade, nothing. I was really disappointed with the lack of customer service and cleanliness. Despite the neighborhood seeming nice, I would never return to this hotel.

Offered Wi-Fi but it wouldn't work. The ice machine was toward the front, and we were in the back. Some basic cable channels seemed to be buffering. Room was small, shower was missing a liner, pillows weren't very comfortable. No temperature control panel. The plus side was the location. Close to many restaurants, Starbucks, and freeway. It was clean and was ok for the 2 nights we stayed. And it fit our budget with 3rd party discount.

Check in was slow, the keys to the room would not open the room door, I paid for 2 nights , it was inconvenient to have the room keys to be re-keyed if I paid for 2-night.

The location is good, it’s close to the beach. The staff is very nice. I will say though, the rooms need need to be cleaned better. The floor looked clean but it felt like it needed to be mopped. The shower was not draining fast enough and it seemed a bit clogged. Also, I left the AC on one day and when i came back there was a mysterious puddle on the floor no where near the AC unit, I think the water came from the floor boards.

Although I specified a non smoking room it smelled like smoke. It also smelled musky as soon as we entered. The worst part is the AC didn’t work all night so we packed up and left at 4am! When I mentioned to the front desk she explained how the chiller kept going out.

They have No AC!

I like my stay at this location it was very nice

The AC was down go the entire building. 85+ degrees in the room. Girl at the front desk said sorry. The next morning another girl said sorry she couldn’t do anything. I’ll be disputing it. Didn’t even sleep in the room.

Took way too long to check in. Gave me a room without fridge when I reserved one with one. Took two hours for them to bring in a fridge, leaving cold food I had brought to warm. Each night the AC, without any input from me, turned into heat and made the room into a sauna. The shower floor was filthy/damaged. The room floors were not clean. The bed was uneven with its springs. Overall a poor experience. Let management know about the AC/heat after the first night: they played dumb and dismissed it. When it happened the second night, I cancelled the final night and went elsewhere.

Affordable. It’s located in a nice quiet neighborhood with a short distance to the grocery store and fast food restaurants, not very far from LEGOLAND. Unfortunately, our room was not the cleanest. Floors weren’t clean. There was food on the floor and sheets, towels were a bit stained. Beds are not the most comfortable either but it was doable for just the night. The pool was clean.

Floors damaged and dirty, room disgusting, drains clogged. Mold in shower. Floors bubbling. Beds wrong. Curtains have holes, AC didnt work. Door barely closed. Absolutely terrible. Suprised expedia even allows them to pull customers... very disgusted and dissapointed
