Roami at Duncan Plaza

This is my second time at this property. The location is very convenient. My only issue is the cleanliness of the room. There was a pair of socks hanging on the light and also in the corner of the washer/dryer. Otherwise, I would stay here again.

Dirty room, floor is oily and stained, even saw q tip and pill on the floor, they even lied to me and Expedia, will never come back again.

Score: 6 out of 10. The room was adequate if a bit spartan, but I wasn’t there for the decor. First-time visitors to New Orleans might appreciate a more full-service lodging with a concierge. Fortunately, I (mostly) know my way around and was pleased that so much of what I wanted to do was within easy walking or transit distance. It also was convenient to have a kitchen so I could make toast and tea in the mornings. And the firm mattress ensured a restful sleep. One incident unsettled me, though. Around 11:30 p.m. the first night of my stay, a fire alarm/evacuation announcement woke me up. I scrambled into my clothes and hurried down 12 flights of stairs, where I saw disheartening suggestions that the office building-turned-lodging wasn’t maintained very well. Mysterious stains on the floors, unfinished repairs and renovations, and a general aura of neglect that reinforced my sense this was more of a cut-rate operation than portrayed in the listing. In the lobby I found out the alarm sounded because of some polishing chemicals a work crew had sprayed on the elevator doors. I returned to my room with a much grimmer regard for the way the place is run. This wasn’t the bargain I’d expected.

It’s worth it…

The unit itself was spacious and clean but the property has a horrible smell that lingers into the unit.

The host Lance never responded when I needed him. The number he gave went straight to the company in whatever state they're in. Also I left my tablet after checkout and 2 days later when they said they finally cleaned the room they did not see it. I know I left it there. Shame on the cleaning crew for keeping it! Never will I use Romi again. Thiefs

So the pictures make this property look amazing. I will say it was fine for 2 nights. The location is a 10/10. Very easy to walk everywhere. The unit was very clean, 10/10. The unit was clearly from the 90’s and the furniture was very worn. But the unit was HUGE! It’s clear it been used a lot. The beds were very comfy as well. The area is sketchy and I wouldn’t feel comfortable walking alone at night. The building has an interesting smell and the building owners, likely not Roami, don’t take care of it. Parking is across the street which was convenient but a very dirty garage as well. I was concerned leaving my car there but we had no issues. Typical NOLA atmosphere.

Security at front was very helpful and nice. Safe environment. Very clean and comfortable place to stay while on vacation. Everything is walking distance shopping plazas, all restaurants, excursions

I like how I didn’t have to use a key to get in and out of the hotel . I love how it was 5 min walk from bourbon st & 8 min walk to the grocery store if you needed anything . Parking garage across the street. Everything is just near so you don’t have to use Uber if you don’t want too

Had a good stay. The place was clean, had everything you might need (fridge, microwave, iron). Comfortable stay, bourbon st is about to streets away. Parade route is about 3 streets away. Easy uber pick up and drop off. Would stay again if needed.

This property has a very strong smell in the lobby of dried up mold, and mildew the elevator smells like it’s urine. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone EVER

The room was clean and stocked well and very spacious. The property was nice and located in a great spot just a short walk to all the fun spots. I will be staying here again

It was a good experience. The place is the size of a one bedroom apartment. The couch in the living room folds out to a bed. The kind size bed is a really good mattress. The only downside would be the limited towels. I stayed for 4 days and barely had enough towels to last. Inquire about towels if u plan to stay for a while. It also had a washer and dryer. Just think 1 bedroom apartment, furnished, because that’s what this is. I would definitely book again.

The entire building has a putrid rotting fish smell. From reading reviews, this has been the case for years, so do not think you will avoid it. The place is run down. Looks way worse in person than the photos. Stay at a real hotel, not this place.
