Sonder by Marriott Bonvoy Georgetown C&O Apartments Georgetown

Amazing! This was my second time staying here and I’ll definitely stay here again and again every time I come to DC. Truly an awesome experience love the Sonder!!! Even in the middle of a heat wave the AC worked amazing no complaints.

I recently stayed at Sonder Georgetown and had one of the most frustrating hotel experiences in my years of business travel. Before my stay, I completed the full payment through Sonder’s official payment link and received an approval confirmation from my credit card company for $530 USD. I even shared the authorized transaction details and screenshots with the Sonder team multiple times. Despite this, the hotel claimed they could not locate the payment in their system and demanded a second payment, threatening to lock me out of my room if I didn't comply. They literally locked the door, leaving me unable to access my personal belongings in the middle of a business trip. Out of necessity, I paid again to continue my stay. It's been over a week, and no refund or proactive communication has been made regarding the clearly duplicated charge. Their internal payment issue became my burden, and I had to spend time and energy proving my own payment while being treated like a delinquent guest. This kind of disrespectful, unprofessional treatment is unacceptable—especially for guests who prepay and communicate in good faith. I will never stay at a Sonder property again, and I strongly caution others, especially international travelers, to think twice before booking.

The app is clearly a problem at times for entry. You have to remember to load it before getting onto the floor because cell service/wifi can be spotty in the halls. I had to use the code several times to get in. The key pad is not that good either and will sometimes not respond to pushing a number....especially the zero key which was the first number in our code. Would be good to advise people that the two front doors are unlocked from 8am to 8pm. We struggled with the code and app without realizing that the door was unlocked when we went to check in. Learned later about the 8 to 8 hours. We saw other new arrivals struggling with the doors and told them about the situation. Otherwise the "self service" model for the property works well...including the luggage lockers which were a pleasant surprise. Not sure we were told about those before checking in.

I was pleasantly surprised by the exceptional service and amenities offered in this property. It was my first time here and I will definitely be booking again with Sonder.

We came to DC for a long weekend and Georgetown is our favorite area to stay, The Sonder apartment was surprisingly spacious with a full kitchen. There were just two of us but the space would be great if you had children as well. The location is the best part though, easy and safe walking to all the Georgetown shopping, restaurants, bakeries, through the charming neighborhood, and the Potomac waterfront which is 5 minutes away. You can take a water taxi to the DC wharf or even to Alexandria or rent kayaks at the Thompson Boat house from there. We will 100% stay here again on our next visit to DC

The first time they came, they said there was a problem with the bathroom because the room below us reported that water was leaking from the ceiling. They asked to enter the room to check. A few hours later, a man from the hotel maintenance company also came, asking to enter and investigate the issue. They could have waited until after we checked out to inspect the problem, or they could have moved us to another room and handled the repairs. They don’t provide drinking water bottles. I asked to print some important documents, but they said they don’t have a printer. They took a security deposit from my account and said it would be refunded within a month

Our initial room was horrible. It smelled like mildew. I complained to the person on site and they first tried to kill the smell with some spray, but ultimately decided to move us to a new room. The second room was much better. I did appreciate the location, as it was in walking distance of a lot of eateries.

Excellent place to stay in DC based on location and cleanliness. However, there is a big negative that affects the whole comfort. The room does not have a single drawer at all. we were forced to keep all our clothes in the suitcases. Moreover, suitcases had to be on the floor all the time. extremely uncomfortable for an 80-year-old couple. Unbelievable!

Great hotel, clean, safe, quiet. The location is PERFECT.

Very well located. Kitchen, living room and the separate rooms makes it wonderful as an apartment. I wish they could have more light in the bedroom and closet; bed lamps are not enough. Cleaning is expensive so we did not got that service. All good

Very much enjoyed the location. Elevator went out twice, bathroom toilet had to befixed twice during our stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sonder Georgetown C&O. The space was clean, comfortable, and family-friendly, with great amenities and a nice private balcony. It’s in a great location—close to shops and attractions. Customer service was helpful, and although there were a few minor maintenance issues, they didn’t affect our experience. Would definitely stay again!

The unique two thing that I did not like , were the strong sound of the air condition and some areas at the apartment need better way to fixed.
