Wonderful little hotel in the desert. Small and quiet, but just a short walk from downtown. Easy contactless check in. If you prefer charm of retro architecture and design this is a great spot. Would stay again.

This is not a luxury hotel. It’s a cool hotel with the architectural history of mid century, modern by Herbert Burns. Very cool room to exterior layout.

Despite guests not being able to check in until 3 pm, when I asked for a late checkout (past 11 am) I was only given 30 minutes; had to keep asking until I was begrudgingly given until noon.

Very quiet and walkable to downtown. Very cute property. Just wish the bed wasn’t so hard would benefit from a topper and wifi was spotty. We stayed in 3 different places in ps this trip and this was the best one.

We’ve stayed here 4-5x over the years. We love the location and the quiet pool area. Everything is walkable. We experienced an uncomfortable bed this year, unlike past years. And the shower knobs were hard to turn off and on. Wish they still had the continental breakfast each morning. Overall, a good value.

The Hideaway is a fantastic little gem, which is centrally located within Palm Springs. This was our second visit to this hotel and we will be back again for sure. The grounds are well maintained and very private. The hotel is tucked back away from the main roads and it is super quiet and peaceful. The staff are very friendly and helpful and room was lovely, like stepping back in time… The mattress was a little uncomfortable but otherwise, a fantastic stay.

Perfect location, able to walk to many restaurants/stores. We visited for pride, you’re close enough to walk to everything and you’re just far away enough to enjoy the peace. A lot of off street parking out in the front despite the busy weekend. The rooms were very clean and while the staff was not on site. They are readily available by calling/email/text. Housekeeping was on site every morning and they were fabulous! Each room had an iron/iron board, refrigerator, coffee machine, coffee and sugars, and snacks. Would stay again

We are Los Angeles natives and travel frequently, both in the United States and abroad. I have not left a bad review in 15 years. However, given that this was about basic needs, it is warranted. The hotel we usually stay at in Downtown Palm Springs, was sold out. I was hesitant to book a 3 star hotel. But the 4 star hotels, in my budget range, were given only moderate reviews. I booked The Hideaway for its location and because it received good reviews on the beds & providing a great sleep. I figured, it is only 3 stars, but it is over $400. a night, so it may be good. First the good, the hotel grounds are kept up nicely. And, the integrity of building is kept up, as well. The room has the old fashioned record player with records. Some period furnishings and pictures. They provide snacks and water, as well. Now the bad part, the shower door extraordinarily small. Please see pictures. I am 5'5 and petite, I turned side ways to get in. My Husband is 6 feet tall, lean and athletic. We managed to get in. However, it would be very hard, if at all possible, for a large person to enter the shower. One of the main reason that one books a hotel, is to sleep. The bed was the worst bed I have ever slept on in a hotel / motel, or even a lodge at the Grand Canyon! We read and read our books, trying to get to sleep. At one point we contemplated sleeping on the lounge chairs outside to be more comfortable. LOL In the end, my Husband got no sleep and I got a few hours.

Definitely mid-century modern vibe. Very quiet but the heat wave did it for us. Too hot unfortunately. Room basically good but some very tired aspects. Shower cubical with half width door made the cubical feel a bit claustrophobic. Shower taps odd and almost falling off. Initially the toilet rocked but this was fixed quite promptly leaving a leak. Also fixed once reported. Coffee machine didn’t work but another supplied same day. Comfortable bed.

Fabulous mid century style hotel. Loved everything about it from the room to the pool to the gardens to complimentary water/coffee etc. We wish we could have stayed longer.
