Lovely inn, friendly staff in every area. And a fabulous porch. This is the rare old inn that feels modern, too, and it overflows with charm.

IThe Red Lion Inn is an institution. The porch, the shop, there’s even a pool in back. It’s a wonderful place and is clearly well run. The ambiance is very pleasant. Not hyper but friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay in a really nice room on the 4th floor. The bathroom was huge and clean and recently updated. I’m eager to stay again. We were there very early in the Spring. High season will be a different vibe. The nearby Norman Rockwell Museum was worth a visit but costs $45 for 2 senior rate entries. Plan to stay a couple of hours to get you money’s worth.

This was perhaps our 5th stay at the Red Lion Inn though our first in many years. It’s a lovely property. We were in one of the houses which had a nice central living area where we held “happy hour” each evening. The property is clean, well furnished and beds are comfortable. It isn’t a modern “luxury” property. It is a very nice historic one with helpful staff in a wonderful location. We ate at the main restaurant which was good but not great. There are lots of fabulous food options around (especially in Lennox) Great bakery with lots of gluten free options up the street at the Lost Lamb as well.

I was very excited to stay at the Red Lion Inn. The outside of the Inn was charming, the inside had beautiful antiques and furniture, however the floor and carpeting were in terrible condition. The girl at the front desk rolled her eyes at me when I asked about the haunted room. She said I’ve been here 3 years and there’s nothing. Now I’m not a ghost hunter, but I thought it was cool that it could be haunted. The bathroom in our room was DISGUSTING. There was some gooey stuff in the sink that would not come clean, even after housekeeping. Although I love the old charm, the bathroom had a big claw foot tub with a shower that was some cheap metal rod with a shower head. There was no shelf to hold toiletries. It was extremely small and the toilet was very low to the ground. Idk how someone tall could sit comfortably. I do appreciate the charm, and the overall vibe, but get some new carpet and get rid of the nasty sink in room 320

It is a very old building and old town and it really shows. Felt like a ghost was going to pop out at every corner. There is a musty smell everywhere. The Heater/AC unit in our room did not work but the windows did so luckily the weather was not harsh. If you like that kind of thing then this is the place.

Safe and comfortable. We came very early in the season. We came to see the Divine Mercy Center. It was very moving . The location is great for this, but it is not a walkable route (no one said it was!). Breakfast was very good and reasonably priced. Room was comfortable and warm. Dinner prices were quite high. Would stay again.

I was excited to finally stay at the Red Lion Inn after having admired its grandeur from afar when passing through Stockbridge. My husband and I have a penchant for historic hotels and we were ready to check this one off the list. Though the staff working in the front lobby were attentive and kind, we did have issues in other areas of the hotel. We ate in both the tavern and the main dining room but, unfortunately, found the service to be just okay. Our server was not overly friendly in the tavern and did not look to check up on us. When we decided that we wanted dessert and tea, she seemed oddly annoyed. In the main dining room, my husband received the wrong omelette order, and by the time we were able to see our waiter to flag him down, a good ten minutes had passed. Yet, all of this pales in comparison to our actual room stay. The bed in our room was lumpy and worn out and the frame loudly creaked with every movement, so no one woke up feeling rested. Also, there were small bloodstains on the linens, the sink was stained blue, and the upholstered chairs had areas worn through to the thread. Also, a good number of room doors have large gaps at the top. This combined with the paper-thin walls makes it easy to hear conversations in adjacent rooms. In addition to the initial high cost to stay, a preservation fee is charged for each night; we didn’t see where those funds were aptly applied. We checked the hotel off the list and were disappointed with what we discovered.
