Collaboration program between HCMC Department of Tourism and Traveloka

To ensure the efficiency of COVID-19 prevention and control in Ho Chi Minh city and supporting people in searching and booking quarantine transportation easily, HCMC Department of Tourism has collaborated with Traveloka Vietnam to implement the program “Ho Chi Minh City Tourism joins hands to fight against COVID-19”.

With full information of vehicle types and prices displayed on Traveloka Xperience, it will be more convenient for people including F1 cases, COVID-19 cases completing treatment or isolation period, and foreign arrivals to select transportation, book and pay online. This project also helps tourism companies transform their business model in response to the new situation.

FOR PASSENGERS WHO ARE AT RISK FOR INFECTION (F1) AND WHO HAVE COMPLETED COVID-19 QUARANTINE PERIOD/TREAMENT WHEN BOOKING QUARANTINE TRANSPORTATION IN HO CHI MINH CITY

Question1: Who can book and use Quarantine Transportation in Ho Chi Minh City?

This includes the following cases:

Persons who are immigrants moving from Tan Son Nhat airport to quarantine hotels.
Persons who are F1/F2 moving from their place of residence or government quarantine facilities to self-quarantine hotels.
Persons who have completed Covid-19 quarantine or treatment moving from quarantine facilities or hotels to their place of residence.
Question 2: How do quarantine transportation companies guarantee safety against COVID-19?

Traveloka's transportation partners and their staff had been trained by the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control (HCDC) and planned quarantine transport services following the safety regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control of HCMC Departments of Health and Transport.

In particular, all companies offering quarantine transportation during the pandemic have to put the safety on their top priority with the following transport standards:

Maximum vehicle occupancy cannot be higher than 50%
Protective clothing, hand sanitizer, and disinfection spray before and after each ride should be used to prevent Covid-19 under the direction of the Department of Health. Please check the included services and details thoroughly before booking.
All drivers have been fully vaccinated, maintaining a rolling 3-day testing cycle, and wearing protective outfits to prevent cross-contamination during the transportation.
Question 3: What do I need to prepare after booking the quarantine transportation successfully on the Traveloka?
After the payment step on Traveloka system, passengers will receive a Booking Confirmation sent to the email provided. The transportation partner will contact you within 15 - 30 minutes after that to reconfirm the booking information and pick-up time.
Before the departure time, please contact the carrier directly to ensure transport formalities. Passengers also need to make sure their Traveloka voucher is ready before departure. Show your QR code on the Traveloka voucher to the driver. Only your voucher is eligible, while the payment receipt may not be valid to use the service.

*If you are the passenger moving from your residence place or government quarantine facilities to self-quarantine hotels, you need to prepare the following necessary documents:

Personal papers (ID Card, Citizen Identification, etc)
Medical handover minutes of the local health center/quarantine facilities.
Covid-19 investigation minutes issued by the local health center/quarantine facilities.
Quarantine Announcement of the local authority (applied for F1 and F2 cases).

*If you have completed COVID-19 quarantine or treatment period and been ready to return to your place, you need to prepare and show "Quarantine completion confirmation" on the departure day to avoid unnecessary waiting.

Question 4: How can I recognize the quarantine vehicle and its staff?

Before picking you up, the driver will contact in advance and inform you the pick-up time and vehicle number.

Question 5: During the quarantine transportation, which regulations do I have to follow?

During the transportation, the passenger, the driver and the accompanying persons must comply with the following regulations:

Always wear masks
Install and open Bluezone tracking application, and use personal safety measures to protect yourself.
Stay at least 2 meters from the others
Go straight from the quarantine facility to your place, avoiding parking or eating along the way.
Question 6: Can I book transportation for my accompanying relatives?

Yes, you can proceed on Traveloka app and website. You only need to choose the transportation service and the number of passengers, enter your personal information, and the pick-up/drop-off sites as requested.

The transportation supplier only accepts no more than 50% of vehicle occupancy. For example, a 7 seater car cannot transfer more than 03 passengers. All the riders must have the same medical condition or be family members/colleagues. The transportation supplier will not accept transit passengers, multi-drop-off transporting, or stopping along the road during the journey.

Question 7: What is the emergency contact if I lost or forgot my luggage and personal items?

For lost luggage and personal items left behind on transportation vehicles, please contact Traveloka customer service via hotline 1900.6978 for quick assistance.

Question 8: What is the policy for transportation cancellation, refund and reschedule?

It depends on the cancellation, refund and reschedule policy of each transportation partner.

Question 9: How long does F1 need to be quarantined in the hotel?

The Ministry of Health and the Government stipulate that the quarantine period that suits the current epidemic situation will be from 14 days (for all persons who need to be isolated). This is calculated from the date of last contact with a confirmed case or suspected case, or from the date of entry into Vietnam.

*Note: F1 persons who are being isolated at Centralized Isolation area who wish to switch to hotel quarantine need to have a negative first test result for SARS-CoV 2. Then, they can contact the isolation area management unit to carry out the procedure to transfer to the hotel quarantine. The next quarantine period only needs to cover the remaining days.

Question 10: Which regulations do I need to know after I completed the quarantine period?

After the quarantine period, F1 can return home if they are healthy and have a negative result. They will receive a Quarantine Completion Confirmation issued by the People’s Committee of the ward where the quarantine facility is located. However, F1 still need to monitor their health status at home for another 14 days.

FOR GUESTS ENTERING VIETNAM AND NEEDING TRANSPORTATION SERVICES IN HO CHI MINH CITY

Question 1: Who are allowed entry by the Government of Vietnam?

In accordance with Section III, COVID-19 Prevention and Control Management Guide for persons requesting to enter Vietnam in Official Dispatch No. 3440/CV-BCD dated April 27, 2021, by the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, the people allowed entry into Vietnam include:

Question 2: What should people know before and while entering Vietnam?
In the 14 days before entry, guests need to limit going out unless it’s urgent, take good care of their health, and not travel abroad.
In case the guests are worried about their health condition such as having a chronic disease, they should discuss it with their doctor first and also get a medical diagnosis certificate in English to be sure. Additionally, guests should pay attention and prevent the risk of infection when visiting medical facilities to request a negative test confirmation.
Guests should quickly reconsider delaying entry to Vietnam when they have a high probability of being infected with COVID-19, such as experiencing symptoms such as fever, respiratory problem, sore throat, lost sense of taste, or being exposed to confirmed cases of infection in the surrounding area such as in the workplace, home, etc.
Pay special attention to the risk of infection while using airport transports, at the departure airport, inside the aircraft. It is recommended that guests take appropriate infection prevention measures during this time (such as wear a mask, avoid crowds, use hand sanitizer, etc.).
During the period from the time of entry until the end of the quarantine period, guests need to use a designated health monitoring app for epidemic prevention and control at the request of health authorities in Vietnam.
Question 3: Which passengers can book and use the quarantine transport service in Ho Chi Minh City?

The transport service is open for the following cases:

Question 4: How are the service providers ensure safety against COVID-19 when transporting quarantined people in Ho Chi Minh City?

After completing the payment on the system, customers will receive a booking confirmation code sent to their registered email. The transportation service provider will contact within 15 - 30 minutes to reconfirm your information and schedule the pick up time.
Before departure date, please contact the service provider directly to check the procedure. At the same time, passengers need to make sure their Traveloka voucher is ready before boarding. Personal documents (such as Passport)
Approval document that allows the 14-day (or longer) quarantine for people who arrive from countries that have adequately controlled the epidemic.

Question 6: How can I identify the quarantine vehicle and the service provider's staff?

Before picking up passengers, the driver will contact you in advance, informing the pick-up time and vehicle number.

Question 7: After completing immigration procedures at the airport, how will I move from the airport to the quarantine hotel?

After arrival, guests will need to wait for the quarantine officer's instructions, use designated path and get on the quarantine vehicle that they have booked to move to the quarantine facility. Guests are required to wear full protective gears during the transportation process. Your luggage will be sprayed with disinfectant before reaching the facility.

Question 8: During the transportation process to the quarantine hotel, what regulations must I follow?

While moving to the quarantine facility, passengers need to adhere to the following regulations:

Always wear a mask;
Apply personal protective measures as prescribed;
Limit close contact (less than 2 meters) with others while moving.
Question 9: Can I book quarantine transportation service for my relatives?

You can book quarantine transportation service for your relatives on the Traveloka app and website. You just need to select the service provider, select the number of people using the transportation service, fill in your personal details and the pick up/drop off point.

Question 10: If I lose or forget my luggage and personal items while using the transportation service, who can I contact?

When you have lost or forgotten luggage and personal items, please contact Traveloka customer service at 1900.6978 for timely assistance.

Question 11: What is cancellation or reschedule policy for quarantine transportation service?

It is applied according to the cancellation or reschedule policy of each service provider.

Question 12: If I am entering Vietnam, how long is the required quarantine period at the centralized quarantine area/quarantine hotel?

In accordance with Official Letter No. 5599/BYT-MT dated July 14, 2021 of the Ministry of Health on reducing isolation time, piloting at- home quarantine for F1, managing and treating COVID-19 patients, the compulsory quarantine period for people entering Vietnam is 14 days from the date of entry (except for cases of quarantine according to other regulations of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control and the Ministry of Health). Upon entry, guests need to continue monitoring their health at home or place of residence for the next 14 days.

*Note: the quarantine period may be extended depending on the actual situation and the Government's regulations.

Question 13: What documents do I need to prepare to receive my room at check-in?

Necessary documents for check-in procedures include:

Personal documents (such as passport).
Approval document that allows the 14-day (or longer) quarantine for people who arrive from countries that have adequately controlled the epidemic.
Flight tickets;
Reservation confirmation number at the quarantined hotel.

*In the case that the guest is fully vaccinated or has recovered from COVID-19, they need to prepare the following documents in English when checking in at the hotel:

Certificate of full vaccination against COVID-19;
Certificate of recovery from COVID-19.
Question 14: During the quarantine process at the hotel, what regulations must I follow?
When you enter the quarantine room, you need to read the quarantine rules at the hotel which have been placed in the room by the staff. Fill in the temperature monitoring sheet and sign the commitment paperwork that ensures your compliance with the rules of the quarantine hotel, then place them on the table/chair in the hallway in front of the room or take a photo of the documents and send the pictures to the hotel.
Persons quarantined at hotels must comply with the following regulations (according to Appendix 1 - Regulations on medical quarantine at hotels in Decision No.1246/QD-BYT dated March 20, 2021 of the Ministry of Health):

Quarantined inside room: refrain from leaving the room, limit direct contact with other people in the quarantine hotel. If you absolutely need to leave the room, you must wear a mask and keep a distance of at least 2 meters from others.

Do not leave the hotel without permission.
3.
Do not host games with people in the quarantine hotel. Do not gather to talk to other quarantined people.
4.
Wear a mask when in direct contact with others. Do not spit at will.
5.
Regularly wash your hands with soap and water at the following times: before eating, after going to the toilet, after coughing and sneezing, when hands are dirty…Wash your own cups, personal belongings and ensure hygiene in the room.
6.
Put the garbage in a sealed bag and put it in the trash can located in the hallway in front of your room's door for daily pick-up at a fixed time.
7.
Get clean linen in the hallway in front of the room at a fixed time. Fabrics that need to be washed (clothes, blankets, pillows, etc.) are put in sealed bags in the hallway in front of the room for daily pick-up.
8.
Regularly open windows (if any) to let the air flow. Refrain from turning on the air conditioner (if need to use, the temperature needs to be above 26 degree Celcius and increase ventilation).
9.
Self-monitor your health and notify the hotel reception or medical staff as soon as one of the following symptoms: fever, cough, sore throat, difficulty breathing and other symptoms.

Food is provided according to the hotel's menu at a fixed time of the day. Do not serve food at the request of the quarantined person unless there is a dietary recommendation from a medical officer.

Question 15: How many times do I have to be tested for COVID-19 during the quarantine at the hotel?

You will have to take 3 tests during the quarantine period, on the 1st, 7th and 14th day.

*Note: The number of tests may vary depending on the requirements of the health authorities.

Question 16: What are the procedures and regulations for when I complete the quarantine period at the hotel?

At the end of your quarantine period, you will receive a certificate of completion and move to your residence by a designated vehicle. There you will continue the isolation at home or self-monitor for the next 14 days.
