We just wrapped up a 3-night stay at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort, and while there were definitely some positives, there were also a few things that really impacted our overall experience.
First, the good: the hotel itself is fairly nice—clean, modern enough, and in a fantastic location. You can easily walk to tons of great restaurants, coffee shops, and stores, which we really appreciated.
Now, the not-so-great: the valet situation was a mess. One evening, we were stuck in traffic a block away from the hotel entrance for over 30 minutes because the valet area was completely gridlocked. No communication, no help—we ended up parking the car ourselves. For $70 a day (plus tips), that was frustrating.
But the biggest issue was the construction next door. Full-on, heavy-duty construction noise starting at 6am. It’s loud and constant—jackhammers, drilling, banging. Forget sleeping in or resting during the day. My wife and I were here for our babymoon, and it really ruined the relaxing vibe we were hoping for—especially for her, since she’s been needing extra rest lately.
All in all, this could be a great hotel, but we wouldn’t consider staying here again unless the construction next door is 100% done. Until then, it’s hard to recommend if you’re looking for any kind of rest or quiet.
