Our stay at Grand Oasis Cancun was unfortunately disappointing, and we feel it’s important to share our experience.
We were given a room with a terrace facing the beach, but the safety lock on the door was broken. While someone would have needed to climb to reach it, we didn’t feel secure knowing there was no proper lock.
The room showed visible signs of wear. The toilet and sink had old stains, and we noticed a few cockroaches, which raised concerns about cleanliness. We took photos to document this.
One night, there was a power outage that affected our room, and the next day, half of the building had no electricity. Our friends, who were also staying at the resort, checked out early because of it.
We tried contacting staff for help during the outage, but received no response and couldn’t get assistance for a room change. It felt like support was unavailable when needed most.
The food was basic, with repetitive, mass-produced options. While we didn’t expect luxury, we had hoped for better quality and variety.
Eventually, we decided to leave during the night to find a hotel with basic comfort, cleanliness, and safety. Unfortunately, the check-out process took over an hour, as we were told we needed a special pass to exit. That delay made a tough situation more stressful.
We ended up finding another hotel that was clean, well-lit, and more welcoming. While Grand Oasis Cancun may work for some travelers, we would not return.
