Staff was very friendly.

We booked this because of location and the pool. The pool was closed when we arrived and there had been no notice of a closure so we didn’t have the opportunity to change our booking. We were told to use it in the morning. In the morning they told us to come back because it was busy and we didn’t have a reservation. No mention of needing a reservation was mentioned the night before. Also, they don’t do laundry on weekends. This was one of our hotel stays and we really needed that service, again no heads up. We went out to breakfast and upon return, our keys didn’t work. Usually with all these kinds of interruptions to service the host is very gracious and accommodating, not here. Too bad, because it could be a nice place to stay. The bell tower was lovely, and it was a nice neighborhood to walk and dine.

The doors to the rooms slammed loud and hard. Every time a guest closed a door it was so loud that it woke me up. It was also the dirtiest hotel we stayed at in Ireland. Thankfully, we brought our own Clorox disinfecting wipes and cleaned the place. The front desk staff were ok. The carpets in the place were disgusting. Stains on stains. I would not stay here again.

Great location and good clean hotel in general. Pool was ok but you need a swim cap and padlock for the locker. We had no heating or hot water in 324.

Close to shopping, train station, etc

Long story, short- right after we checked in, my husband and I went on a ghost tour. Turns out the hotel was the original Cork hospital starting in 1720!

Was close enough to walk to downtown and bus station.

Excellent will stay here again and again

Great hotel, clean, comfortable and perfect location. Had a lovely stay.

Allowed us to check into our room from 10am despite the 3pm check in time. Easily accessible and close to everything you need for your time in cork. Would definitely stay here again!

Very good stay

The staff are friendly and polite but the hotel is showing its age around the public areas and rooms. Sink, bath and mirror in bathroom look cracked/rusted. Biggest disappointment is the swim facilities with not knowing that caps are mandatory at €3 each and expecting guests to bring a padlock for lockers is a bit silly, just have a coded or key operated door system. I would return because the hotel is well situated but it would benefit from a refurbishment, and is definitely below the usual Maldron standards elsewhere I’ve stayed.

Great 3 days at this property! The main entrance was under construction during our stay but it didn't bother us at all. The rooms have all been updated, they were very clean, all 4 adults were comfortable and felt safe. The breakfast is plentiful. The hotel is within walking distance to downtown Cork. There is very limited parking in front of the hotel, we dropped off our luggage at the hotel, parked in a downtown parking garage and walked the 10 minutes back. The only caution is that the hotel is on a hill. If you have anyone with mobility issues, this could pose a problem with the amount of walking uphill.

Excellent customer service from staff, who could not have been more attentive and helpful. Some parts of hotel could do with some refreshing, but overall clean and comfortable and didn’t detract from the visit

We enjoyed our stay at the Maldron. The location was great just round the corner from some lovely bars and restaurants. Staff were really friendly and the breakfast was very good.

We had a noisy stay at the hotel due to some inconsiderate guests, but the hotel were amazing about it and moved us into a different room at 1am, provided free breakfast and parking and refunded half our stay. The room we moved to had super comfy beds and was very quiet. Breakfast was good but the best thing about the hotel was the staff. Denis the manager, Marie the receptionist and the night manager all went above and beyond. Many thanks
