Really beautiful property and grounds. Dog friendly which was a HUGE plus, they also left out bowls, a dog bed and a chew treat - much appreciated! The room was cosy and bed was very comfortable. Dinner in the bar was good, the only slightly strange thing is there is no music played anywhere in the restaurant or bar meaning that the ambience is really strange! Not necessarily a judgement but it was very noticeable how uncomfortably quiet it was. The spa is lovely and gym is small but adequate!

Great hotel, clean, comfortable, great food selection cooked beautifully and the staff are polite and friendly. I could not ask for more.

The name of the hotel says it all Spread Eagle there were lots of communal areas dotted over the hotel very comfortable.

We stayed in four places whilst walking the first half of the South Downs Way, the other three were pubs with rooms and all three were much better than here - more attentive and friendlier service, nicer and more modern rooms and significantly better food and yet this place was twice the price.....

Really lovely stay at the Spread Eagle which is in a convenient location and free parking. The staff were all really attentive, the decor and facilities are lovely and the food was excellent. Overall a great hotel and stay.

We had a fabulous few days. The ladies on reception gave us such a lovely welcome when we arrived. The staff were all very attentive and professional during dinner. The food was amazing. Love all the real fires and cosines of the hotel.

On arrival and departure members of staff offered to help with our bags. Room 4 was fairly small and one side of the bed was difficult to access due to the narrow gap between bed and wall. Our meal in the restaurant was excellent. I had the red onion tart starter which was very tasty. My wife and I both had the fillet of beef which was cooked to perfection.

Lovely stay after attending a family wedding! Spent the Sunday relaxing in the spa. Hotel was really interesting with it’s history.

Lovely stay. Food was lovely and service good. Only disappointment was bill having service charge applied for drinks from bar and a drink not requested by us. Staff were friendly.
