In all of our travels, Punta Serena stands out as one of our favorite destinations. The views and beach are amazing. The staff is welcoming and helpful. The food quality and presentation is 5 star. We have stayed here many times with repeatable quality

Staff was very friendly and the food was amazing, the best food I've ever had in a resort! This is also an optional nude beach, we did not see any information regarding it but we were the only ones at the hotel so it was no issue. Would highly recommend if you are looking to relax. My husband got the 80-minute massage there at the hotel and it was the absolute best!

Terrible service and installations. Outdated, needs remodeling and maintenance. Very understaffed,.. staff needs to be trained in customer service Too expensive for the experience. This should be no more than $100/ night Food is terrible

The food has improved significantly in comparison to how it was a year ago. Everything was great, excellent service, great value. I would only suggest to add extra tables during the breakfast and dinner as well as pool chairs, as sometimes there was no space for all the customers.

Absolutely beautiful view and venue with very attentive service, and a very private clothing-optional beach. Food and rooms are more-than-adequate to good, but short of excellent - but for an all-inclusive adults-only resort the rates are hard to beat.

The food quality was marginal at best. The place has a ton of deferred maintenance. The wait staff is the slowest. The views and beach helped to make up for the shortcomings. Quiet and relaxing. Great getaway.

This is a very unique one of a kind place. The geographical setting is spectacular and beatiful. The small boutique scale of the resort is intimate and everything seems to be done with much care. The food, drinks and presentation are top notch. The menu is a set menu, so the only downside could be that you might tire of the food if you are in for a long stay of more than 5 days, but it is excellent quality with much effort put into it. The place is very quiet, tranquil and relaxed. The clothing optional beach is one of a kind for privacy and complete freedom to go with as little or as much as you please without reservations. Not too many places on this earth like this. Not sure if there are many places on this earth that compare to this. Highly recommended for a romantic getaway with your spouse. If you are looking for a party scene, this is not the place for you. The rooms are large and private with some classic Mexican decor, but not the most modernized if that is important to you. We found the rooms to be insignificant compared to all the other positive points of the resort. If you are looking for absolute beauty, serenity, quality and freedom, this place is outstanding.

My wife and I visited Punta Serena for the 4th time November 2018 and for the second time this year alone. This trip was a little bit different in that the main and only dining area was closed due to a lightning strike 25 days earlier. The palapa was destroyed and the area was a construction zone. The pool which is adjacent was open but with the construction, no body used it. The small conference room was transformed into the dining room, which worked ok but just wasn't the same. The menu was unchanged from our last 3 trips and really needs to be refreshed. There was no mention of this closure before our arrival nor was it mentioned upon checkin. The lower hot tub was too cold to use day or night. The front desk said that it was broken and had been for a while. The upper tub was cool as well but was useable. The beach was as beautiful as we remembered but the service there was spotty. Massages were conducted on the beach this time and that worked out well. Overall it seems that aside from the Dining room closure which was beyond their control some other areas including hot tubs, beach service, dining room service have deteriorated. We really do love this hotel and hope we can return again soon.

When we checked in the receptionist did not speak english and when I asked her to speak slowly so that I could understand her (my spanish is ok, but not good) she continued speaking at a very fast pace. I think we were told that we couldn't check in because we were too early (it was 3:10) and checkin wasn't until 3pm. She took us to the restaurant where we grabbed a snack and then returned to the office. At that point we were checked in and shown our room. At no point were we oriented to the property, this mystified us over the next 3 days as we wandered around trying to figure out where things were. It took us until day 3 to find the gym that was located in the Spa. I fully get that not speaking great Spanish in Mexico is on me. That being said, I have traveled in Mexico a lot and never had such an experience where someone seemed truly disinclined to work with me to understand. A few other notes: 1. Private beach was incredible. Shaded palapas, beach bar, just big enough to go for a walk, really nice. 2. We didn't learn this until we were leaving, but the normal restaurant was close due to lightning damage, the substitute restaurant was the yoga room. We didn't know this and thought we were just in the restaurant and it was really weird. We learned this from other guests. 3. The bathroom in our room needs some love. Corroded shower head, bath spigot coming off the wall, etc... 4. The staff (aside from reception) were absolutely lovely.
