I booked into this Hotel for 1 night only, as I was in Transit. On Check in, I'd forgotten that I had the remains of a Chilli Con Carne & rice in my luggage, that I'd knocked up at my previous apartment. The chef of the Hotel kindly reheated it for me, however when I ordered a pint of Moretti from the Hotel Bar, I was quite astounded to be charged an eye watering 9.25 Euros for the pint! On check out I was very surprised to be charged 7.50 for car parking for the previous night. It's common place for large Hotels both in the Netherlands & the UK to charge for parking, Vlaardingen however is a Rotterdam suburb & it's direct competitor in the same price range the nearby Bastion Hotel certainly doesn't charge for parking, so for that reason, I don't plan on using the Hotel again in the future unless everywhere else i know in Vlaardingen is full.

We were charged 7.50 per day to park. The cost is hidden in the smallest print you can imagine. After complaining we were eventually refunded. Charges should be clear and visible at the time of booking, not sprung on you when you check in. We have parked free of charge at this hotel many times previously. We will never stay there again.

Strong sewer smell in the bathroom the entire time, also met with a bug traveling across the bathroom floor. Toilet paper is rough. Desk surface, info brochure and window sill had dark crumbs, either cookie crumbs or dead ants, couldn’t tell for sure. Restaurant ran out of pork schnitzel, so they offered chicken instead (not on the menu), which I appreciated, but then they poured BBQ sauce all over it without asking (the pork schnitzel would have been either with pepper or mushroom sauce). Overall, disappointing from an Ibis hotel, I had better experiences at other Ibis hotels.

The elevator was broken for the first 2 days of my stay, 5 flights with luggage! There is a McDonalds and Texaco next to the hotel, but not much else. If you have a car, no worries easy access to main highway, but if you are relying on public transporation, you might want to keep looking. There is a bus stop in a 3 minute walk, pick up / drop off twice an hour between 8 and 10 and again between 3 and 5. The rest of the day up once an hour and stops at 7pm. The next closest bus stop is over 1 KM away. Website says laundry facilities available, but this doesn't mean you have access to a washer and dryer. They will do laundry for you, which can be expensive, I believe it was 8 euros for one t-shirt.

Where to start. I know it’s not Mac Donald’s but the receptionist greeted me with a scowl more than a smile and seemed to be annoyed that I had checked in online via the email the hotel sent me. The lobby is unchanged in the last 10 years The room was exactly as expected but the shower head had obviously been replaced in the bathroom and it didn’t fit into the holder on the rail meaning it was difficult to shower as one hand was needed to hold the shower head. Checkout was just as unfriendly as checkin I was made to feel that I was an inconvenience for asking for a receipt. Overall it was expensive for a very average stay.

Have used this hotel several times, the staff are always very friendly and helpful. The rooms are perfect for someone who is only after a bed for the night, very comfortable. It is a shame this hotel now has a parking charge, which lead to waits to enter/exit through the barrier, which appears to be controlled from the front desk (and you have to wait for them to see you on the camera).

The room was comfortable, ok size for a couple. Bed was comfortable. Missing a kettle though for coffee or tea at night. Location is good for our purpose, close to the motorway. Breakfast was simple but good and enough.

Good location for business travelers if you are working around the Rotterdam port area. Great service from staff and the food is of a good standard and cooked fresh. Secure barrier car parking free of charge for hotel guests.

This is a lovely hotel - particularly the breakfasts, which are superb. It's a perfect base to visit Delft, Gouda and the Tulip Fields. But... We stayed over a weekend and decided to eat in the hotel on the Saturday night. On previous nights, we'd seen people eating tasty looking burgers. But, apparently, at the weekend they have a VERY limited menu, although there's nothing in the hotel to tell you that. So, the menu we were offered had no starters, just three main course choices and one dessert. By this time, we'd had a couple of drinks, so couldn't drive anywhere else (and you need to drive because it's a long way out of Rotterdam) and we didn't fancy the McDonalds next door, so we made our choices. But the food was decidedly average - more like a motorway services than a hotel restaurant. To be fair, when we complained, the staff were very helpful and, in the end, they reimbursed us for one of the meals and said if we stay there again, they'll offer a meal on the house. But it would have been nice to know about the lack of choice beforehand.

The hotel was warm, pretty clean and staff were very friendly and most helpful. Location is tricky if you don't have your own transport. Local bus only runs every half an hour and less on weekends. Its a 25 minute bus ride to the best station. Food was good and reasonably priced although breakfast was expensive at 15 E. Games room is poor and needs updating.

Good overall experience, the staff were very good. There is a car park next to the hotel which is popular with new drivers that seem keen on writing car horn symphonies at 2 a.m. Very creative indeed. Nice breakfast buffet.
