The location was quite pet friendly which was nice. The beds were clean. The carpets were old and needed to be replaced. It is an old hotel that is showing its age

Hotel is near the river however is nothing like the photos. Not sure how this place is even allowed to stay open in its condition.

Last minute booking and had no other option. It's a nice location on the canal, definitely under renovation and could be cleaned much better. Breakfast is average, no eggs or bacon/sausage, there was pancakes and many other basic options (muffins, toast and juice). It's a comfortable stay for a cheaper one night stop in. Hallways and elevator could use major Reno's. The balcony is nice but not cleaned. You could tell it definitely used to be a nice hotel in its day and has lots of potential to become itself again. Just needs work. Service was very good.

The entrance, elevator, and hallway carpets were very dirty. Glass also needs a cleaning. Very outdated furnishings.

The room could have been better prepared for guests. The bed was missing pillowcases and was not well made, though I had brought my own linens, which helped. During the night, the radio alarm unexpectedly went off at 1:00 AM, which was disruptive. The mini-fridge also froze the food I had stored, which was inconvenient. The room's door was difficult to open from the outside, even after it showed as unlocked—I had to use quite a bit of force to get in. The continental breakfast was very basic and didn’t meet my expectations for a downtown Smiths Falls location. On a positive note, the reception area feels modern and welcoming, but beyond that, the property could benefit from some updates to match that first impression. Suggestion: A quick check of rooms before guest arrival, ensuring alarms are reset, doors function smoothly, and breakfast offerings are refreshed would greatly improve the overall experience.

Main complaint "cleaning staff left our room open". Hotel is aware the door needs to be closed firmly because it's not aligned properly. Said they instruct the cleaning staff to make sure, yet our room was found open after they cleaned. Area is in a questionable secluded area of town with a pub inside the hotel. One would want a secure room. Asked for a manager to call us since one isn't in until 8am after we were checking out. Never heard from the hotel at all.

The place is run down. It has posters of areoplan from over 5 years ago. And the "photo of the property" is of the comfort inn down the road. The doors are hard to open. The furst room they gave us i had to shoulder to open but couldnt. And the sexond room wasnt much better. Over all the place is really run down

It’s getting old, could use new carpets and electronics but I had a very nice room, it’s very clean, and staff were unfailingly courteous and helpful. I would certainly stay there again.
