The hotel reception and dining room were very modern looking, however the room itself (we had a suite) was very dated and was not really set up for modern needs, e.g. there was only one accessible power socket in each room and it was located on the far side so phones had to be charged on the floor. The hotel itself was conveniently located close to the old town for historic sites and the wonderful port market.

My wife and I booked a suite (the most expensive room type available in that hotel) for an overnight stay to attend a conference. The hotel has not been renovated since the 1990s. There are almost no electric outlets in the room so it was difficult to charge our electronics. Upon arrival we went to the restaurant for afternoon tea, which was ok but not great. Upon return to the room I tried the jacuzzi only to find that using it flooded the bathroom! Everything in the room was shabby and basic. What is more, they provide a Nespresso coffee maker but leave only ONE capsule. When I asked in reception for a second one, they charged me! Then, next morning the breakfast included was dismal. It contained exactly the same food as the tea for two we had the previous day (recycling leftovers?). When we requested to extend our check out (which is expressly mentioned in their marketing materials) so that we could attend the event until it closed, we were sternly told that while this was allowed, I had to be down in reception by 1:00 pm sharp or they would charge me for another day!! The coffee break food in the event was exactly the same as we had had for tea and breakfast and the water servedsmelled so much of chlorine that it was undrinkable.Last, they chose to clean the bathrooms during the coffee break and there were about 200 people in attendance. All in all, a bad experience.

There no better way to wake up in Montevideo and see the water of Rio de la Plata. This is the view you can enjoy at NH Colombia. And that is what makes this hotel my favorite one in Montevideo so far. There is a lot more to like about that place. The service is outstanding, the breakfast great and the gym on the top floor offers a beautiful view of the city. The hotel shows its age a bit but this did not bother me at all.

Great location. The property itself has issues--the paint was peeling in the room. Breakfast was disappointing (for example the Orange Juice was watered down). Someone tried to come in my room at 8:30 AM. But there were great staff members--I was being kept up by a smoke detector light. Someone came and taped it so i would not be kept up.

Fabulous hotel and all the staff are so helpful and welcoming. We were checked in very quickly and efficiently. The room was very comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed dinner the restaurant . Overall highly recommend!

It was a good experience

The rooms seemed dated. When I booked, one of the amenities was Airport Shuttle. When I messaged to set up the pickup, I was told they don't pick up from the airport, but they would drop off. Fine. Then when I tried to book the transfer back to the airport at the front desk, I was told there was no shuttle at all. Breakfast was fine. The only real hot thing was scrambled eggs.

Ideal for being downtown Montevideo

They advertised an airport shuttle, but DO NOT HAVE AN AIRPORT SHUTTLE! Prior to the trip, I called twice but nobody answered the phone, called the 800 number and they couldn’t get the hotel to answer either. Finally emailed and they waited until the day of check in to tell me no shuttle existed. This hotel is FAR from the airport so expect $50-75 USD in taxis to and from the airport. Room was old, bare and outdated. Shower leaks on the floor.

O hotel precisa renovação! Infelizmente, o quarto tem um cheiro muito ruim, ainda que a toalhas e roupas de cama estivessem muito limpas. Moveis velhos e llascados ou muito arranhados. O atendimento no restaurante é ruim. Atendentes dando altas risadas no bar, em vez de dar atenção aos hóspedes.

Good hotel for business, simple and friendly

Hotel was outdated. It is in need of major renovations. Even the baseboards in the room were coming off the wall.

The food was cold, only 1 coffee at the room

I had a bad experience at this hotel. I checked in online the night before and selected a room on the 8th floor (to avoid street noise) with a king size bed. When I arrived, they put me in a small room on the 6th floor with two small twin beds. The bed was uncomfortable. I could feel the springs. They said that is all they had even though I had checked in on line the day before. I always do this at NH hotels, that's why I like NH. The room was noisy, small and moldy. The hotel itself is old but I must have gotten the worse room in the whole place because most the reviews were great. That was not the case with my room. I didn't stay. I checked out and went to another hotel. The reception did not offer any alternatives. This is not to NH standards. I would not recommend staying here.

Great hotel nearpedestrian street and old town. Great view of water. Hotel staff was excellent

The room had no air conditioning, which is contrary to what was advertised on Expedia. Although the explanation at the front desk was that the air conditioner in all rooms were turned off due to being winter-time, the days I stayed were summer temperatures at over 80 degrees. And to make matters worse, there were a lack of fans being distributed. If the Expedia advertising were honest and accurate concerning the air conditioners being turned off, I would have never booked the three nights. And what does it take to turn the air conditioners on for a few days? I attribute the problem to bad management.

The room housekeeper, Cyd a really great job of keeping my room neat and clean and stocked. The desk staff was responsive and I even got a room when I arrived early in the morning. Was a little difficult at first to figure out how to get my laundry done and were room service was because no one was answering the phone. Then I and where room service was because no one was answering the phone. Then I found the code
