Wir haben spontan 3 Nächte im Juli gebucht. Die Fotos schauen ja alle sehr schön aus, außerdem wir eine 4-Sterne-Anlage versprochen. Das Zimmer: Wir wurden anscheinend auf ein Balkonzimmer geupgradet. Das hat leider nicht viel gebracht, sowohl Balkon als auch Zimmer sind leider sehr sehr klein. Mann kann nicht aneinander vorbeigehen wenn man. z. B. vom Bett ins Bad möchte. Das Bett war sauber, auf dem Hocker am Schreibtisch war leider ein deutlicher Fleck. Die Sauberkeit im Bad ist am schlechtesten, sehr viel Kalkflecken und Schimmel. Auch das Bad ist sehr klein, man hat eigentlich keinen Platz zu zweit. Die Anlage: Eine sehr in die Jahre gekommene Anlage bei der Versucht wurde mehr schlecht als recht die Fassade zu wahren. In den meisten Fluren sind die Wände dreckig oder die Farbe splittet ab. Den hoteleigenen Pool haben wir nicht besucht weil hier eigentlich nur Kinder waren. Es gibt ein Fitnessstudio das zur Hälfte als 30 Jahre alten Geräten und zur Hälfte aus ganz neuen Geräten besteht. Pro: Man bekommt ein Handtuch wenn man hingeht. Ansonsten dominieren Familien mit Kindern die Anlage, wirklich ruhig oder entspannend ist es nirgends. Meer und Außenanlagen: Die Strände sind öffentlich, dementsprechend sind auch überall Kinder und Familien. Das wär ansich kein Problem, es wird aber teils anders damit geworben. Der in den Bilden dargestellte Infinity-Pool liegt am Meer, dort sind mehr Kinder als Erwachsene, Ruhe hat man gar keine. Zusätzlich gibt es am Vormittag ein

First the positive: this is a fine hotel with nice facilities and nice beach access within walking distance of Novigrad center. The breakfast buffet is amazing. Good spa / gym. The staff really try to be helpful - and they were helpful with several requests. Now the negative - our room was dirty when we arrived - there was a dried blood spot on one duvet cover, there were hairs in the bathroom and an old bar of soap still in the shower. The hairs in the bathroom I noticed when I arrived but since I arrived late at night, I collapsed right to bed and didnt notice the old soap bar until I showered the next day, nor the dirty duvet cover (I noticed it when I started inspecting the room more closely). When I reported these things, the receptionist that dealt with my report was understanding, and sent a cleaning crew to our room right away - but, that doesn't fix how gross it was... and I was not offered any kind of discount or any gesture to offset that our room had not been properly cleaned. When you stay at a four star resort, you do expect a minimum level of comfort, cleanliness, and service. Clearly this place needs to focus more on the cleanliness. I can say this is true because after the cleaning crew had been to the room - they left our dirty glasses there but tipped them over so the lips of the glasses were touching the bathroom counter (not with a paper under) and the old bar of soap... so, pretty much they just changed the bedding I guess... communication issues?

Great hotel - shame the rooms and balcony aren’t a bit bigger. Felt a bit quashed.

Nice hotel with a great comfortable location. Has it’s own very nice outdoor pool plus is 1-2 minutes walk to the beach. Lots of space And it’s possible to take a nice 20 minute walk along the beach path into the town (Wish I had known how nice the walk was before arriving. Lots of parking at hotel if driving. In general a nice convenient place to stop and relax.

Great Hotel, great breakfast but dinner buffet could be offering more meat choices and seafood. Overall very nice though and would stay there again.

Overall very good. It was clean and modern with good facilities. Restaurant staff really nice and friendly and worked hard. The hotel is in a good location for the lovely little town. The negatives were; air conditioning in the gym was nearly none existent so when the sun came round in the afternoon/ early evening it was too hot to work out in there. The hairdryer in my room was very weak. I used the ones downstairs in the spa. I had a single room and the bathroom was very compact, a larger person would have problems getting round the sink into the shower Two of the reception staff were not the most friendly. However these are all points I can overlook, I had an enjoyable stay at the hotel.

A resort style hotel, with all it's ups and downs. Pros: Clean room, if a bit small. Partial view of the sea. Nice beach, outdoor and indoor pools. Nice outdoor bar, decent selection of beers and cocktails. Cons: Do not, under any circumstances, order from the a la carte restaurant. It's basically spruced up buffet food. When we realized that 99.99% of the people here were eating the buffet, we knew we were getting hosed. The breakfast buffet wasn't that good either. There was a band playing loudly outside until pretty late, the rooms aren't too well insulated. They keep their rates low by charging extras wherever they can.

+ The hotel and the staff are great, breakfast was fantastic, very clean and neat. Room was nice, lacks a little design and warmth, but neat and clean. - the bed was awful! - the mattress was bumpy, springs were protruding even through tne extra comer, the mattress cover to short... After 3 nights my body was literally bruised ant it hurt. Lacking some outdoor pools, connected to the innside.

It was a return stay and it wasn't lovely. A warm welcome-they recognised us from previously. The room was good, clean and comfortable. Food was no time as good as last time and the fact that there was a busy sports tournament meant that sometimes food was incomplete at service or not to the standard proeviously experienced-warm rather than hot. Pool was good but hot tub was warm at best. Good location.

It was very relaxing and so close to the beach with a short walk into novigrad, some of the hotel staff were very pleasant

Awfull food served for breakfast and dinner. Dried through as prepared in advance and than served buffet style for 3 hours. They do include wine and beer for dinner. Housekeeping is not doing their job well - we have someone's hair in the washing bin and on the white sheets.

We were on honeymoon. On our arrival at the hotel we were greeted with a frosty welcome and it appeared that they didn't have any record of our booking. We were left waiting for about 45mins,without anyone telling us what was happening, even when I asked several times. Luckily my wife had a copy of the Expedia itinerary on her to prove it was a confirmed booking. Once we had finally been checked in and given our room key, I mentioned it was our honeymoon as we had put it on our booking, hoping to be spoilt a little and all we got was "yes I just read that" no congratulations and no being made to feel special. So we went to our room where we got more disappointed, it wasn't a 4star standard double more like a 3star. Very basic, unwelcoming and mould around the shower cubical. Not a room you want to spend time in as newly weds. It was given a very basic clean each day and we didn't get the info pack in our room till 3 days before leaving! The free high speed wifi was terrible in the hotel but great by the pool and beach, just where you need it....NOT! The rest of the hotel facilities were pretty good especially for kids. The pool was ok but dirty on last day with stuff floating in it. The buffet breakfast and dinners were good with plenty of choice, although they do like their salt! We just didn't enjoy the hustle and bustle from the other guests, not many manners!! We would definitely go to Croatia again as it's beautiful but wouldn't stay in The Maestral Hotel again.

The staff were incredible, the value for your money was unbeatable, the rooms were impeccable. It's the perfect place for a family, for couples and for elderly. It has a wide variety of activities for the days when you don't want to lay by the inviting pool or private beach. I cannot say enough positive about my stay and would very highly recommend this hotel. I'll be back!!!
