This is the only hotel in this small town, and it’s a fairly nice hotel given the size of the town. The staff was personable and greeted me by name each time they saw me. Given that level of personal recognition, I’m confused by the issue that I had: I specifically asked for no one to enter or clean my room, and I put up the do not disturb sign. I returned to find that someone had removed the towels that I had hanging to dry, but not replace them or emptied the trash. I reiterated to the manager that I wanted no one to enter my room, then asked for towels to replace the ones that were taken. He said they had no towels at the front desk but that he’d have someone drop them off at my room and do nothing else. When I returned to my room that evening my room had been cleaned, and some items that I had left out had been moved.
TLDR: the staff will enter your room regardless of whether you want them to.
