This is our first visit to Ottawa since my elderly family moved to a care home, so we now need to stay in a hotel. This hotel was perfect. I chose it because it’s located halfway between the care home on Porter island (Rideau River) and the Parliament Buildings, and we could easily walk to both. It’s also very close to the Byward Market area for restaurants, and only 15-20 minutes walk to the HOHO buses at Elgin and Sparks. We walked everywhere, no taxis except airport. Taxi drive along the river is very scenic.
Our room had a balcony which was great. We could see the Peace Tower from it. The room was spacious and comfortable. One great feature for me was the number of plugs. We each have 2 Internet devices and I have 2 health devices, so I always carry an extension cord. Didn’t need it here!! TV has lots of channels. Bathroom was great and it had a separate small sink in the room, very handy to have. Bed was small for 2 people, but we managed. Breakfast doesn’t change much but was good and had all the the items we needed. All in all, we were very happy and will return.
