It was such a pleasure to stay at such a cute place. Immediately walking in you get a sense of quiet, almost like the building commanded it. So perfect for book readers and those who would like solitude from the busy outside.

What a great place to stay in Seaside. We stayed in the Turret Room and it was awesome. Larger room with sitting area. The location was great and lots of places within walking distance. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in Seaside.

The hotel is in a great location close to the beach. The staff were friendly and helpful. We liked the historical significance of the hotel with its beautiful lobby.

Pros: Beautiful building. friendly staff. clean room. GREAT location. decent price, free breakfast in the morning. Pet friendly. Outdoor firepit and bikes to borrow. Cons: small rooms (luggage in "closet" in the bathroom), only 2 electrical outlets - one next to bed with lamp and clock, one across room for TV and DVD player. my room did not have a refrigerator/no space for one either, no surfaces to put anything down/the tv takes up the entire dresser top. You can hear the floor creaking when the people walk in the next room or above room.

We loved the charm of the Gilbert Inn, However, the toilet in the Garrret room bathroom had difficulty flushing.

The Matthew's Room was Amazing!! Clean and view of parking/my car. Loved the robes!! The staff was kind enough to check me in a bit earlier when asked if we could park the car in their spots. Inn is close to the beach and the stores/resturants. Eould Definitely stay there again

Its a boutique historical house, well located as a hub to go to Connor beach , Indian beach. Somebody mentioned in a review excellent breakfast, definitely not. As boutique place as it is a staff person could offer at least some fresh eggs

Love the proximity to the ocean beach and Seaside Promenade. Inn is so charming and comfortable, the full breakfast was delicious. The rose garden in front was so pretty this time of year and the Inn is lovely.

The rooms are somewhat spacious for a B&B, clean and comfortable with nice robes and bed. It was quite noisy with people partying on Saturday night and trash trucks in the early morning. The breakfast is worse than a Best Western or lower end motel and for that reason do not plan to stay there again.

Our room was very clean and quiet. The breakfast was typical but very nice. We enjoyed sitting in the bright dining area.

The bed was very uncomfortable, the staff dismissive, the room was very loud from the neighboring rooms and the parking garage across the street (The photo of the dumpster truck stuck in the parking garage is the view from the room). Many things were broken, including the coffee machine and half of the bikes. There was hair in the breakfast. I was also irritated that the staff tried to charge us over $100 for requesting to change to a different room, despite that room being offered online at a lower price. I did enjoy the outdoor fireplace. But there are better places to stay with a similar proximity to the beach.
