When you advertise a “kids zone” play area and it’s under construction, you should red flag that and notify your customers.

The ocean was not in good conditions to swim

Beautiful property and amazing staff.

The dinner & restaurant food is very good. Daytime & bar food is mediocre at best. Certainly NOT what you’d expect for the price point of the resort. The beach area is not good… pretty much stayed poolside all week not. Would not recommend this resort for the amount it costs.

The service was outstanding. They kept the rooms and property very clean. Our concierge Izamar was amazing and took care of us and our needs in a very timely fashion. The food was delicious. We had great meals the whole time at the resort.

Food was amazing; service was really good but tips get out of control with the need to sign bills for 'invenrory purposes' everytime you have a drink at the pool. The beach had a ton of seaweed and the water was rocky, which was a huge downer. The kids club was being rebuilt (no arcade) and the coffee shop could use more snacking options and ice cream flavors. Overall, I don't think it's worth the price

Overall had an excellent stay at Grand Velas. Got upgraded to Grand Class through Expedia VIP access. Nora our butler was very attentive. The food is the best part about this resort. Unlike all the other all inclusive resorts, food here is excellent. The minor downsides that we noticed: the concierge via whatsapp available until 5 pm and then you have to call a number from a room, which is a bit inconvenient when you want to adjust dinner plans, need something last minute, have to go back to the suite, music selection at the pool needs major improvement, it was either not on, or something that was not very good, we noticed the butlers around the pool were hesitant to change the towel or give extra towels when asked which made it somewhat awkward, and while room service breakfast was amazing, the breakfast buffet at the azul was disappointing. Things were not clearly labeled, there were no clear directions on how to order omelettes, pancakes etc.

Great place

Beautiful property and excellent service. Food and drinks are amazing! This is the second time I stayed in this hotel and definitely I will come back. Highly recommend the spa if you want to pamper your self it was an Amazon experience.

World class at every level. The facility was incredible. Spotlessly clean everywhere. Grounds were perfectly manicured. Pools were immaculate. The restaurants were excellent. The food was very, very, very, high quality as were the cocktails (a lot of which were originals). We stayed in grand class and it was 100% worth it. The staff was the literal best and most attentive I’ve ever experienced at any resort in the world.

We had a wonderful family vacation at Grand Velas Riviera Maya. Excellent food (especially Cocina de Autor, Frida, and Piaf) and beautiful property. We highly recommend spending time at the Zen pool - a really magical, relaxing spot. The staff were all really wonderful, friendly, and helpful. All 3 of our kids - ranging from age 4 to age 14 - had a great time. We would certainly come back again!!

Beautiful property, incredible staff.

The hotel upgrade my stay,Unfortunately the 2 bed reservation was not respected, On the second day of my stay the hotel wanted to resolve the situation, being on the beach I did not wanted to loose time and effort, the hotel is exceptional - in this particular situation it was the staff who did not show interest to try to resolve the problem - it was until I asked the following day that Nora reacted to my situation.

Outstanding vacation

Excellent resort. Great service. I would have given this resort a 5/5 but there simply is not enough pool/beach chairs for everyone at the family ambassador pool. You need to be there for 715am in order to get a chair. For the price we paid this is unacceptable. Also the service at the Italian restaurant was sub par. The ground are beautiful and the beach is great. Emmanuel and Fatima at the pool service were outstanding. Aaron was an awesome personal concierge. Please fix the pool chair situation and will come back.
