This is by far the most beautiful place I've ever seen. We capped off two weeks in Sicily with two nights here on Panarea Island. The owner, Maria Pia, and her staff are WONDERFUL. She's taken her family home and made it into a beautiful boutique hotel with a great restaurant as well. The views are stunning. It is exactly as you see here on Expedia. Maria Pia and the staff made our vacation one to remember, including recommendations on placing to dine in town, things to see - and even helping me hire a private charter to take us to snorkel and see some of the smaller rocky islands nearby. I can't recommend this place enough. Even the locals will tell you, it's the best place to stay on the island.

Hotel is nice well maintained and employees are very welcoming. Some rooms are small and have no terrace or patio access. We couldn't access the jacuzzi with the rooftop view which was one of the reasons why we booked this hotel. Since there are no amenities we don't think it's worth the price.

Outstanding staff and location. Can't say enough good things about this place. Beautiful and perfectly relaxing. Amazing attention to guests and beauty. Truly artistic, welcoming and beautiful meals - the best we had on our entire vacation. This is the stuff we will dream of when winter sets in. Sebastian, who welcomed and cared for us, was the best host I have ever encountered.

This is a lovely place to use as a base for your exploration of Panerea. The hotel is exquisitely furnished, run with warmth and efficiency and very well located. Breakfasts are a work of art and worth a stay all on their own. The views are stunning, the grounds beautifully maintained. There is a fine deck to catch some sun, and a cool plunge pool to cool you off, but no formal pool. Highly recommended.

We had a magical honeymoon at the Quartara. The setting of hotel is perfect, with our room on the roof terrace framing spectacular views over the sea and little port town. The decor and design is wonderfully tasteful and its open-sided restaurant and roof terrace seem to trap the gentle jasmine-scented breezes that fill Panarea on warm summer nights. The staff were wonderful - kind, friendly and helpful. Special mention to our waiter - who was full of stories and tips and a pleasure to talk to. The food was delicious and specially chosen Sicilian delights - both at the buffet breakfast and on the evening dinner menu. A jacuzzi on the roof terrace was a treat and comfort was everywhere from room and bathroom to the sun loungers. It’s just five minutes walk down the narrow windy streets to the busy port but you feel peacefully above the fray as soon as you get back to the hotel. Panarea’s nicest beach is only 20-30 mins of a beautiful island walk away - even though you could get one of the golf-cart style electric taxis too. But the best way to see the island and swim in the clear blue water is to get a boat for the day - something the hotel were happy to arrange. For the most part - this place was perfect and is full of memories. Only two notes dampened the experience - late night club music from the port was OTT on a couple of occasions. Not the hotel’s fault - but irritating. Also, be careful of getting there - choppy seas can stop the ferries and leave you stranded en route

We had a nice quiet stay during the last week of April, off-season, as a result we got a great deal on the rate. The room was well-appointed and the lobby and breakfast were very nice. For a luxury hotel, a few things were lacking, possibly due to our off-season timing. That said, this hotel seemed to be the nicest accommodation on Panarea, surprising given the island's reputation. --For the first 2 days, there was no hot water in the shower, but after that, it was fine. --We had the hotel book and confirm a boat rental for the following day, but when we arrived, no boats were available for the entire day. To be fair, the boat rental service was independent of the hotel, but there were no other options provided on the entire island and as a result we never got to take a boat trip. --The "hot tub" on the roofdeck was filled with cold water and so it was not very useful. Potentially on the hottest days of the summer, it would be a refreshing dip.

I would strongly recommend both the hotel and Panarea as an island. The hotel is very comfortable and serves excellent food. The staff couldn't have been more friendly or efficient. A minor downside of the hotel is that the walk to the beach is quite long and rather taxing, especially in the heat of the day. A taxi cost about 9 euros each way. The island is stunningly beautiful. Stromboli is clearly visible from the harbour. As I was celebrating a significant birthday, we weren't looking for a cheap holiday, which was just as well as nothing is cheap on Panarea. The restaurants provide excellent food, but we rarely paid less than €100 for a meal for two with wine. In short it t was a wonderful holiday in a very special location and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

My wife and I stayed 4 nightshade before traveling to Stromboli. We stayed in the 'private terrace' room. The so called private terrace is actually a small 3m x 3m section of the public terrace which is reserved for you. It's not private at all, and really doesn't provide any benefit at all compared to just using the public terrace. The rooms are very small and basic the staff were generally very awkward and asking for anything you felt as if you were causing them a hassle. Overall the most disappointing hotel experience of my life so far.

Our room was amazing, beautiful aura and ambiance. The jacuzzi on the roof was something to behold. The people of the hotel are accomadating and Manuelo the do-it-all utility guy, was great. He drove us up to the hotel and even showed us where to find the secret beauties of the island. The other staff were sweet and very down to earth. An amazing hotel for an amazing island.

The staff at Quartara went out of their way to ensure we had what we needed and were always friendly and accommodating. The hotel is beautiful and well situated, rooms well appointed and very clean. Can't recommend this hotel highly enough.
