Arrived at 3am and check in was ok. The room was on the 3rd floor outside the lift and was noisy. However,it was adequate with a comfortable double bed and a small, albeit dirty bathroom. We had a knock to our door at check out time by two men which we assumed were hotel staff. As we soon discovered at reception, they were tour operators trying to get us to book a car and driver around Rajasthan. They had come to our hotel room door!!! Trust me when I say it’s bad enough dealing with all this hassle outside never mind in your hotel where you should be able to escape it all! After exploring Delhi we came back to the hotel to use the WiFi (as it was good) and plan our trip some more. Again there were a lot of men sitting around the small reception area seemingly doing nothing. One man took his mobile out, spoke and conveniently enough the same two tour operators walked in to the hotel again!! We booked this hotel as it was walking distance from the train station and met our needs for the night, however it wasnt really that close. You would still need a tuk tuk ride and you may as well have that hassle once outside not in your hotel or even worse, your room door!!!

If you are looking for a place to stay in Paharganj, Hotel lals Haveli would be a good choice. The rooms have air conditioning and are clean (I suggest asking for a room without carpet. It feels cleaner with hard floors). The owner is very helpful and friendly. It's a 5 minute rickshaw ride to the nearest metro station or you can walk 10 minutes. Overall, it's a very good budget hotel in Delhi.

Great location, within walking distance of new Delhi train station. Cheapest hotel we stayed in during our trip (we stayed in six). Nice breakfast on rooftop. Friendly, helpful staff. Room a little noisey and no tea/coffee making facilities in room. In a lively street just off Desh Bandhu Gupta Road, we felt very safe in this area, even though it is very busy. If you want better accommodation it will cost you more, this is fine if you are on a budget, nice hot shower (en-suite).

Ok budget hotel. Quiet, but central. Nice and helping staff. Have your meals elsewhere. Do not use the pick-up service from train station, you will be charged Rs 350, while new delhi station is so close that a tuk-tuk costs no more than 50.

The hotel staff was great, the rooms cleaner than most places I have stayed in India. Don't let the neighborhood frighten you it is India and a bit chaotic but friendly people.

The hotel was close to the rail station which was why we booked. the Hotel was clean and the staff were very helpful. they have a nice rooftop restaurant which is a nice release from the chaos of Delhi. The only down side was the day manager hooked us up with a travel company that brings you to their office in a car and rail roads you into booking trips, they promise you lots but the real agenda is to take your money and bring you to food stops and shops so they can get a cut from what you buy.

Quite satisfactory for a budget hotel. The service was excellent! We enjoyed morning coffee on the roof. The neighborhood is not nice but we had no problems.

Very friendly staffs; nice hot water; stable wifi in the room; no much noise on the 2nd floor; walking distance to New Delhi station, yet the metro station is a little bit far because you need to cross the station. Overall, great hostel for the rate!

They were very kind. We arrived at night but we didn't need to worry because they picked us up at the airport. They'd feeded back soon when i sent email But you have to know there e mail address is "hotellalhaveli@yahoo.com" whithout 's'(no lals) and don't care capital. And our train was at 7p.m. They let us rest in the big room until that time. You can also use wifi there :-)

We had to change our reservation in Delhi at the last minute, and found Hotel lals Haveli online and booked it without knowing much. The staff were very accommodating - we arrived at 11PM on New Year's Eve, and the check-in process was fast enough to get us out into the city for midnight celebrating. The staff were nothing but friendly (they even gave us a wake-up call and set up our taxi to the airport) and there was plenty of hot water. It's not super fancy, but for Delhi the room was quiet and the location was good for easy connections (via auto rickshaw) to Connaught Place and other sites around the city.

The stuff tried to sell me a taxi to get to the caves instead of giving me useful information about taking the bus (timetable...). The stuff was not helpful and unengaged. I enjoyed the ambiance on the terrace-restaurant very much. They have good food. The hotel is not very central but in a quiet neighbourhood.
