I recently stayed at the Embassy Suites in Palmdale and, unfortunately, had a disappointing experience. As a Hilton Honors member for over 10 years, I’ve come to expect a certain level of quality and service, but this stay fell short.
Upon check-in, one of the elevators was out of service, and the maintenance room next to it had to be left open. As a result, there was a strong smell of oil in the area, which was unpleasant and unwelcoming.
The water features at the front of the property showed clear signs of calcium buildup, and there were exposed electrical outlets nearby—something that seemed potentially dangerous with water so close.
We stayed in Room 209, which showed significant signs of wear and tear. The ottomans were torn and stained, the room wasn’t cleaned properly, and there were visible scuff marks on the walls. The shower head was leaking, and the handle had mold stains. Most frustrating of all, the sink made loud gurgling noises throughout the night. Every time someone above us turned on their faucet, it kept us up.
I was also told that housekeeping would come by to freshen up the room, but, no surprise, no one ever showed up.
I reported all of these issues to the front desk at checkout and was told that a manager would follow up with me. No one ever called. This lack of follow-through and poor communication was incredibly disappointing, especially for a loyal Hilton guest.
