It's quite far from the medina to stay here just for a few days. Otherwise it's good place in Essaouira... for those who are not about "Point break" movie.

We had a great stay at the Orson Welles. The hotel is really beautifully decorated in a traditional Moroccan style. The bathroom was especially unusual.

Took my wife to Essaouira to celebrate her birthday. Well received by multi lingual family owner, Aziz. Entrance a bit dull, but rooms brighter and well maintained. Firm comfortable beds and running hot/cold water. Genuine, traditional style and feel. Not much choice but good breakfast, served with Moroccon tea. Quite pleased with the hospitality shown by Aziz and staff, dispute the cross lingual challenge. Good basic accommodation and value for money.

Decent hotel, however the room was really dark, poorly lit. Everything else was very average. The service was good however. It was inexpensive so can't complain too much.

Situated in a quiet part of town. Comfortable rooms with Moroccan decor. Friendly staff and nice breakfast. 10-15 minute walk to the Medina along the beach front. Although there was no restaurant at the hotel, there are plenty to choose from in and on the way to the Medina. 2.5 hour drive from Marrakech Airport with an excellent cab service which the hotel arrange for you.

We stayed in the suite- which was great for a family of four. It's huge, spotless, very dim (unless you open the windows to let some light in) and full of extraordinary fittings. There's a tiled green and blue bathtub, a massive dresser in ornate carved wood and a balcony overlooking the street, which provided hours of entertainment for my four-year-old. (No need for TV!) The beds were very comfy, and even with two fold-ups for the kids, there was still loads of space. The shower took 5-10 minutes to get hot, but was worth the wait. The hotel isn't that close to the medina - about 3/4 of a mile - it's in a residential area of the city, and a 5-minute walk (or 10 minutes at child pace) from the beach, right to the place where the camels depart from! We usually walked along the beach to the medina. There's loads to see on the way, including two playgrounds. One day we took a horse and cart (loads pass right under the window of the hotel) - full of Moroccans rather than tourists. The hotel is family owned and run. Aziz - one of the owners and concierge - is incredibly helpful. With the chef away, he advised us on the nearest supermarket one day, had food delivered from a restaurant another day, and even had his mother cook his some lovely couscous another night. And the breakfasts were great - very generous ans really tasty. I think if you are looking for a sanitised version of Morocco, then this isn't it. But we loved the fact that it was so personal and so welcoming.

This beautifully designed hotel is located a 20 minute walk from the centre of Essouira but very close to the watersports end of the beach. Quiet despite being between 2 busy roads. Spotless inside and gorgeously designed rooms. Service was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and substantial. Highly recommended.

The hotel was clean and we got new spreads for the bed and towels every day, thumbs up for the cleaning lady. Otherwise the rooms were very cold (beeing there during november), the windows and balcony door not keeping close made both cold wind and noise diusturb us during the stay. The showers and washbasin was leaking water and the bathroom overall were not so nice. Breakfast wasnt great either. But you get what you pay for, it was really cheap. Perhaps during summer when the weather is warmer it is more pleasant to stay here. The location was a bit off and it was really hard to find a taxi.

This is a small, family run hotel decorated in a riad style. The hotel represents great value for for money and is located 5 mins walk from the beach and about 20 mins walk from the medina. The staff were very friendly and helpful and i can't thank them enough for helping to make our stay more enjoyable.

The staff is very friendly and is always ready and willing to help. They will go far above to make sure your stay is the best it can be. If you are the type of traveller who wants modern comforts and decor this is not the hotel for you. However, if you want a hotel that is full of charm and culture, this is a fabulous hotel. When I first walked in to my room it looked dirty but it was just the dark lighting and the type of tile work that they have, it is actually very, very clean. I highly recommend it. Additionally, the food is incredible and the service in the restaurant is impeccable.
