We LOVED this property! It is right on the path to the river and a quick walk to Mozart’s birthplace museum! The room had been recently updated and had new bathrooms, storage, and lighting. It was very comfortable and beautifully decorated.

Unable to sleep due to noise from the church bells and drunks in the street below our window. Manager cares nothing about customer satisfaction. Paid for four nights and left after the first. No refund. The reason? “You should have read the reviews about the noise”. Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your money.

The hotel appears to have undergone some recent renovations, which are appreciated and give parts of the space a refreshed look. However, several basic amenities were missing that significantly impacted our comfort. There was no in-room safe or mini fridge—features we expected as standard in a 3-star hotel. When we inquired, the receptionist simply said, “This is a 3-star hotel,” which came across as dismissive. The floorboards were also extremely noisy, making it difficult to move around at night without waking others. We were further disappointed by the occasional smell of cigarette smoke in our non-smoking Level 2 room. Given the pub downstairs and the number of tables outside the entrance where people smoke, it's possible the smell entered through the ventilation or open doors. If not, it raises concerns that smoking may be happening inside the building. While some updates have clearly been made, the lack of basic amenities, noisy flooring, and lingering smoke smells made our stay less comfortable than we had hoped.

Very clean large room with modern bathroom. Didn't have breakfast but there are many good cafes nearby.

Hotel Krone was great! We enjoyed the walk ability and surroundings. The rooms were very clean, except for the couch that was a bit stained and could do with a wash or replacement. We really liked the shower - very spacious with a great water head. It was really nice that 24/7 coffee/tea was available. Hotel is above a bar, but we were on the 4th floor and didn’t hear it at all. The only things we would change about our trip were that the wifi in the room was not great, and there was no luggage stand or place for suitcases.

Located in a great spot. Only a 15 minute walk from the train station and just across the river from the heart of the old town.

The location was great. Easy walking distance to all major attractions. Clean. The receptionist is very helpful. Two things that lowered my rating. First, one pillow is not enough. I have neck issues when my head is so low when lying. I know i could have requested for one but i wish they provided that without being requested. I'm used to hotels having stardard two pillows. Second i hope they would automatically include breakfast without you having to pay extra.

We loved the old building and the view overlooking a courtyard. Location is great for exploring Salzburg. The bathroom was updated, however the bed was not comfortable and dated.

Great location and easy to access by bus… I only had interaction with staff once to get my key, rooms were cleaned daily and in general everything was good.

Great location, but bar below could be noisy if busy. Lots of food options nearby, walkable to train, old town attractions.

The location was great, and as much as is understandable that the building is very old, there was not tv nor internet that work in any room( I spoke with several other guests and had the same experience) during all the days I stayed. I complained and was told that will not be fixed. My room was very dark and smelly and requested a change for another one facing the street whith a normal view.

The staff were good and helpful, and the hotel is well managed. The decor and furniture is old and run down, but it is kept clean. However if you’re looking for a place to have a good night’s rest, this is not the one for you. The walls, doors and windows have no sound insulation, so be prepared to get woken up constantly (I am a deep sleeper). The church bells next door woke me up as they started chiming on Sunday morning at 7am, for 5 minutes straight, then again around 7:40am. This was followed up by cleaning staff cleaning other rooms, other lodgers opening doors and dragging heavy luggage across the hallway, you could hear EVERYTHING. Also means there is no privacy as anyone could likely hear my conversations. If you’re sharing the room with someone, be warned the bathroom door also has no sound isolation, you can hear everything that’s going on in there. I like their option to choose between their breakfast buffet or a voucher for the cafe in town. I chose the cafe in town, and regretted it. It is not very good. I didn’t try the breakfast buffet at the hotel but I wish I had as it would’ve probably been better.

Wonderful property! Charming, convenient location for accessing all of Salzburg, lovely room, delicious breakfast, lovely garden to sit in, and the greatest church bells in the area! We need more church bells in America. :>

Room was on second floor overlooking the street. Paid $297 US for a very basic, outdated room. Ceiling very low in room and doorways even lower. Shower has two doors that are supposed to form a seal but we had to use towels to soak up the flood after every shower. No counter in bathroom and no shelf in shower which makes for difficult use. Church bells immediately outside hotel will wake you at the crack of dawn as well as the garbage and delivery trucks. No street access for cars so you need to park in garage and carry your bags to hotel. Would not recommend this hotel.

The location was nice and near the old town. Because it had no A/C, you’d have to open the windows and you would hear the people downstairs by the road chatting while drinking their beers and wine, etc.

This was a two night stop for us before a trip to the Dolomites. We had a car and it was easy to find their parking lot (note you do have to pay but it’s literally in the mountain!). It is on a cute street and has a bar attached which was great for a nightcap. If you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs- there isn’t air conditioning so if it’s hot the window open is a must and the church will ring its bells. I think this is beautiful and part of the experience but I am a good sleeper so this didn’t bother me. Big shower is a plus. Ease of shaving your legs! Hotel reception was so lovely. Overall we love Salzburg and this hotel!

Convenient hotel, paid parking was closeby inside the mountain! Walkable to main attractions. Breakfast was good and staff were friendly. We were surprised to see most of the stores, even the supermarket closed at 5 pm.
