We love it because it is very spacious and it is very accessible to many things. Staff were amazing and accommodating.only thing i didn’t like very much that there was no lift in the property

Mattress felt like it was 20 years old! Could squeeze both sides of the mattress together, could feel the bed base when sat on the mattress and could feel the springs when laying on it, both beds in the room were the same and I was offered an alternate room but the mattress had exactly the same issue. Ended up sleeping on top of 2 double duvets folded in half and a thick mattress topper to make my night vaguely comfortable and bearable. Will certainly not be staying here for my next trip to Edinburgh. The Premier Inn next door was far more comfortable, you didn't get any noise from the road and was actually slightly cheaper

Great, maybe a little less accessible which wasn't a problem for me, it seemed like the hotel has air-conditioning for only half the rooms, which I thought was odd.

There were a lot of steps up and down to get to our room not good for elderly people. There was only one bedside cabinet so had to use the floor and hence there was no reading light on one side. Also, the shower was too small if you are elderly or have limited mobility or indeed are overweight. We did pass our comments on to reception when checking out.

The Place exceeded our expectations and gave us an unmatched experience to celebrate our anniversary.

The room was clean and large and very well decorated. Very cozy and a great location

Wry hot room no air conditioner

Excellent location, lovely renovation and outstandingly friendly staff.

Rom was massive. Amenities were fantastic. Great shower and pressure. Breakfast was good. Great location, 20 min walk to Edinburgh Castle.

A very cramped room with no ventilation up 5 flights of stairs.

Not enough light over the wash hand basin . I was in the basement where the noise from the drains was disturbing

Lovely old building, high ceilings, cornersings. Tasteful decor. Brilliant location for all our needs.

Great rooms great location great staff

Very friendly and helpful staff. Hotel good for a reasonably priced stay. On a busy road though, with trams and buses going by, so try to get room away from the front of the Hotel.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. We were allowed into our room early which was great since we had an overnight flight from US. The hotel is quite old and we were on the 5th floor with no elevator. It is also quite hot at the top with no AC. Bathroom is quite small. I am not large by today’s standards and could not turn around in the shower. The toilet is tucked in between the sink and shower. Do not book unless you are quite fit and nimble. Also no temperature control in the room. If you need cold to sleep this place is not for you. Great location, very easy to walk to most areas of town.
