The room was nothing like the photos. There was peeling paint, cracks along the walls, door handles falling off, what looked like mold in the bathroom as well as the door lock being broken. Management was refusing to speak to us when we complained and requested a refund or at least a cancellation of the remaining stay. The book of complaints in the lobby was at capacity. We ended up going to a police station and speaking with some lawyers. Once we managed to contact them on writing demanding a cancellation in accordance with Brazilian consumer protection laws we finally obtained one.
Some of the reception staff was really helpful as much as they could given the circumstances. The breakfast was decent and the location was good, but I would never go back.
