The pool was nice that you can use it even in winter. But its probably better to just pay for the pool entrance and not stay at this hotel. The bed was very uncomfortable. The room was using archaic central heating and unable to adjust the room temperature. Had to open a window to air out the stuffy room. Even with the air purifier in the room, the room was very outdated. If they spent more money on upgraded the rooms to the 21st centurary, i think guest would have a more comfortable stay. Breakfast was ok. Nothing to write home about.

The dinner buffet has so many delicious options and such high quality food that you should make it a priority to eat there. The hotel is definitely of the era in which it was built but I think that adds charm. The hotel does provide a free shuttle bus to the sapporo train station. If I come back to sapporo I highly expect to stay there again.

Beautiful hotel where u can spend lots of time in. Has large pools & baths, both indoor & out, saunas, relaxation room with shelves of manga, pingpong tables, game centers, two cake stores, boutique, omiyage (gift) store, restaurants, toddler play area with book corner, and gym & massage (for fee). Lots of helpful staff, some speak English and Chinese. We were family of 6 adults and stayed in Japanese style room, it was very spacious, could fit 10 if u squeeze. Big shower&tub bathroom, 2 sinks, washlet toilet. Ladies came to lay out futon for us around 6-7pm. It’s a big hotel, so accomodates lots of people. Saw about 200 high school students arrive, as well as other travelers. Cheap eats inside the pool/bath building, after u check in your footwear in the locker. All food charges to the locker key, u pay when u exit or checkout hotel. If u stay at hotel, u can get in free even if u don’t use pool/bath. They sell cheap bathing suits at the pool, from 700-800 yen. We forgot to get a cake for b-day so we got it at the hotel cake shop, they put words on it and gave us candles, front gave us matches. No bell boy/girl service. They have carts. Cannot walk around lobby in hotel yukata like some places. It’s a place where u want to spend a whole day there with ur family. Dad said he felt bad for the older lady employee who was cleaning the men’s bath because she was surrounded by naked men.

It is a wonderful place for families with children. There were choices for different types of restaurants, although those within the hotel itself were expensive. The spa and swimming area is a plus for families and the restaurants there were reasonably priced.

Good to have free shuttle bus provided. In general, the staff are nice. But, the room is at the corner of the corridor, no privacy if you want to pull up your curtains. In other words, no view at all. I got sick while using the pool and spa as I could not communicate with the staff in Japanese. I am still paying medical expenses for it.

This was our 3rd time staying at the Gateaux Kingdom. Great resort hotel with excellent facilities. Front desk staff were excellent, restaurant options were great, breakfast buffet was fantastic. Good location for visiting Ishikari. Shuttle bus service to Sapporo Station was an added bonus. Only negative was the cover charge to go for a cocktail in any of the bars, was very overpriced especially if you were just wanting to go for a few drinks.

The bed was as hard as a rock, and my non-smoking room had a stale smoke smell, and no coffee before ten unless I had breakfast. No Bell service help with luggage.

Absolutely Beautiful Hotel! The WaterPark was So Amazing! Kids loved it! Big water slides and several hot tub area that were very big. No Tattoos, but I just wore a long sleeve surf top to cover them. Awesome time and only about 20 minutes from downtown Sapporo!

Got a great rate with this hotel, and was so excited for my stay. There's a free shuttle from Sapporo JR station to the hotel. It takes about 40mins from the station to the hotel. The hotel is located at a very quiet neighbourhood. Great view. There is a huge water park inside the hotel with swimming gears rental if you did not bring any. The onsen was included with my stay. It was good onset, but I had a tour group checked in that night. It was a bit crowded and loud. I was able to enjoy their outdoor onsen as well as their steam room. I really liked it. I stayed two night in the city of Sapporo and one night here. A bit of taste in both city side and relax side.

This is a great hotel. Very nice amenities with restaurants, a few shops, pool, onsen, and arcade. Waking trails and park golf onsite. Walking distance to shopping centre 15 minutes. A little far out if you are planning on doing activities in Sapporo but great if you are visiting Ishikari. There is a limousine bus service direct from the hotel to Sapporo station which is very convenient to transfer to Chitose Airport or to subway or train to other places in Hokkaido. Have stayed at this hotel several times and am always pleased with the service and meals.

This was a nice hotel that would be perfect for a relaxing getaway, but if you're hoping to do some sightseeing, it's not an ideal location. Unless you're driving, you'll have to take a taxi several miles to the nearest train station, which is small and only has several trains heading to Sapporo an hour. Taxi included, it'll take you 45 minutes to an hour just to get into the city, and set you back $40 or $50 round trip every time. Again, great hotel, but if you plan to get around and do some sightseeing you're better off finding something closer to the city. We booked this as it was one of the last hotels with vacancies available in order to see the Sapporo snow festival, and as nice as it was, I can see why it had openings due to its secluded location.

I was visiting my daughter living in Ishikari. Staff were very friendly. Restaurants including the breakfast buffet were very nice. The sushi restaurant in the basement was fantastic. The fitness area and hot tub area were very good as well. The rooms were quite spacious (more North American than European sized). The shuttle bus to and from downtown Sapporo was very convenient. The cakes in the hotel are also amazing. Rooms were quiet and clean. Wi-Fi was free and convenient in the rooms. All-in-all a positive stay.

Was really excited and looking forward for the 3 nights stay even though we took hours to reach but was so disappointed when we were informed by the receptionist that people with tattoo are not allowed to go into the spa. we have to pay extra to use the fitness facilities. It is not a very convenient place for sightseeing and access for Sapporo station is 45 minutes by hotel free shuttle bus. Hotel looks really good from the outside and the surrounding is really relaxing and pretty, good vacation for family with kids to stay a night or two. Definitely waste of time for us. People are really polite but couldn't speak English at all.
