Good location for walking around.. lovely and helpful service from the reception staff.. comfortable and good linen.. unique retro styling perhaps a little rough around the edges.. needs a little attention but on the whole a great experience

Perfectly situated near the bus station, our overnight stay in this hotel was excellent.

It is a pleasant hotel although only 2 star. Well maintained. Well located close to old port. Only problem was lack of air conditioning so room unbearably hot (we stayed during the heatwave)

This was a last minute booking after a busy cycling day, and it was like an oasis for me. They have a closed patio where you can safely park your bike. I loved the original decoration of the hotel and the room, and the extremely welcoming staff. Breakfast was simple but good. Location was awesome, at walking distance of everything.

Lovely hotel very very central. Clean, spacious room with only one drawback, they was no curtain so all could see in. Very friendly, efficient staff.

The hotel is located in a fsirly lively but safe district in an older part of city centre. Quarters wrre cramped but OK. WiFi was not reliable.

Excellent location. Very helpful friendly staff - without exception. The concierge, Karim, told about the free car parking which is a 5 - 10 minute walk from the Hotel and not only is completely safe it saves you a fortune in parking fees. Top tip - ask for a room at the back of the hotel if you are a light sleeper.

A quirky hotel with styling going back to the seventies. Friendly staff, we were able to check in early as our rooms were ready which made life a lot easier. The bedrooms are a bit tired but comfortable with a balcony overlooking a courtyard, ideal if you are there in summer months. The hotel is well located to explore the old port of La Rochelle and about a 20 minute walk from rugby stadium. Public parking at the top of the street and a market at the other end. Slight mistake with bill at checkout but resolved satisfactorily.

This a hotel for whom enjoy having a nice room in a great location. The rooms are colorful, beautiful and small. It was a great experience and I'd love to go back. The staff was amazing. The best staff!!!

The hotel is well situated in La Rochelle, and very handy for the town and the harbour. The reception was friendly and efficient, and the room clean and reasonably comfortable. I do feel that a hand held shower is not adequate, however. But the hotel suited us, as it was only for a single night as a rest and a break from the driving north. Imagine our dismay, then, when what appeared to be a staff dinner and birthday party was in full swing when we returned from our meal at around 10.30pm. There were around two dozen guests, loud music and a lot of cheering and singing. The noise went on until well after midnight, and kept my partner awake till around 1am. Not great when you have a long drive in front of you the following day. We tried to shut the noise out, but even with the shutters closed, the windows shut and pillows over our heads, you could still hear the noise. And to cap it all, breakfast was wholly inadequate. Stewed coffee, no orange juice, stale pastries - I could go on.

Good clean budget hotel - it really needs air conditioning for summer travellers!! Friendly staff very happy to help.

We stayed here for one night on a road trip with our 3 kids. The room was a great size and we slept fine with the kids all in one bed (rooms with enough beds for five are hard to find!). There was no air conditioning which made the room a tad hot at night, but the daytime temp had only gotten up to 75 F/25 C, so it wasn't so bad. If it were hotter it could have been worse. The windows had shutters which made it nice and dark to sleep in. The shower was a little small and it took a really long time for hot water to arrive in the pipes, but it finally did and was fine. The absolute best thing about the hotel is the location. It was only a 10 min walk down to the old port where all the restaurants are, a block from the Cathedral (where there is an awesome 2 story carosels), and a block to the big public market. Last but not least the breakfast was awesome. The kids were free and adults only pay 7.50 euro. Definitely worth it!
