We arrived early by train - it's an apartment building - no front desk or sign to indicate it's La Gioia. We were lucky the laundry man drove up as we were trying to figure out how you get in, otherwise we would have been at a loss. Also, maid happened to be in the apartment cleaning when laundry man took us upstairs and she gave us the keys. According to La Gioia management, we were to have contacted them regarding our arrival time however, our Expedia confirmation indicated that we didn't need to do anything. Payment was another issue. We were to pay La Gioia directly however, although they contacted me via email regarding a time we could meet and pay our first day there, La Gioia management went ahead and contacted Expedia and obtained my Visa number without my permission. They claimed they couldn't get in touch with me by phone but they had contacted me via email????
Bed was extremely hard and very uncomfortable. Apartment was clean but during our 3 night stay, no maid returned to change towels etc. We ran out of toilet paper and dish soap. There is no lift so be prepared to carry your luggage up 3 flights of stairs.
