This is a lovely old villa given new life as a boutique lodge. It has 10 rooms, all a bit different in size and character. I stayed in room 2 with the bathroom across a short hall. A bit strange, but as they weren’t busy, not an issue. The room was quite a good size with a big window letting in the sun. It is a bit draughty with old doors and windows, but the heat pump was good and the bed had lovely thick coverings. Breakfast is included- continental style, but found the coffee quite watery and my toast was stone cold as the manager was distracted by ?? ( I was the only person in the dining room).
The location was the main reason I chose Orari- perfect for walking to the museum, park and shops. Nice to have the free onsite parking as well. Christchurch is a maze to drive, so walking was ideal.
