Really enjoyed our stay at the Riad Sharma. Impressive building architecture and pleasant calm atmosphere, which is a welcoming contrast to the busy surrounding area. The staff were excellent. Most helpful with all aspects of the stay and very attentive.

Comfortable stay in RIAD SHAMA, Marrakech, Morocco. From outside, it was deceiving but once we enter into this complex, our notion/impression totally changed. We had experienced a real flavor of Morocco, by staying at this place. Service and hospitality was good. Although it wasn't a buffet style yet the breakfast was very good. I will tell tourists to go and stay at this hotel. Calm/quite and comfortable stay. Value for money.

This place was beautiful! Unfortunately we only stayed one night here to go to Tangier the next day. Staff was very helpful in providing information and services. Would definitely stay here again with more time.

Staff was very nice and helpful. The room was clean and there was a heater for warmth, a big plus in January! Hammam experience was good too and right on site. Very neat place, would definitely recommend.

It was a great place to stay. The managers were all terrific: Magid, Issam and Mostaffa. They were very helpful and very friendly. My only complaint is that the wi-fi was VERY undependable. I had work to complete and it was very difficult.

Good location, can ask to the main square. When you arrive the taxis aren’t allowed to go directly to the door amd the road/area is very run down. Turn right through the arch and you leave the hustle and bustle behind as you walk in the door.

Stay was good in general; getting to the hotel was a little bit weird. We had to walk through the narrow and labyrinthine streets in the middle of the night. Be aware of people following you outside the hotel, they try to trick you. Also, Could be dangerous to walk around during Night hours. Breakfast was included but only some local pastry, local yogurts and coffee, no other option for eggs or Cereal. Bathroom was shabby.

The staff were brilliant, very attentive. The Riad is very open plan with seating areas and sofas dotted around throughout, so for breakfast, you can just find yourself a comfortable spot in the Riad and the manager would bring you breakfast to wherever you were. The rooms were very comfortable, spacious, and whilst you have to keep your wits about you whilst you're in the streets of Marrakech, whilst in the Riad, we both felt incredibly safe at all times. Check in and check out was quick and easy. The Riad also has a nice rooftop which was quiet whilst we stayed, so we spend a lot of time up there chilling in the evening. The location of the Riad isn't perfect, it's a little out of the way from the Jemaa El-Fnaa, so it's important to have a map or memorise your route to the centre, the walk to the centre takes about 20 minutes. Overall I would 100% recommend this Riad, especially given the price, which we though was very reasonable compared to other Riad's we researched.

My wife and I had the most horrendous experience of our lives thanks to Riad Shama. We made a booking at this riad in Dec 2017. The hotel is located in a terrible, convoluted and dangerous looking area. When we finally found the place, the manager could not find our booking. I showed him the confirmation email and he was confused so he called his boss. After a 5 min conversation in french he said that they did not have any booking under our names and that the riad was full for the night and asked us to leave. As you can imagine at 10pm where all the alleyways are dark and filled with shady characters we were not happy to hear this. We went back and forth for a while; he was getting aggressive and repeated the same few words adding that he did not speak English (even though he was speaking to us fine earlier). We asked to at least use the phone at the riad to call Hotels.com to help make alternative arrangements. But this deplorable person said no and continued to aggressively push us out the door. We left. A bunch of kids followed us and kept offering to show us other riads which we refused at first but finally agreed as we didn't have much choice at that point. There was a real chance we were going to get robbed, beat up or worse but thankfully that didn't happen. After 3 tries, the 4th riad agreed to take us in. We decided to give the kids 300Dh (30€) for helping us. They got angry and wanted more which I refused. Riad Shama had the gall to charge us for the night too!

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at this place. It is very charming and the rooms are spacious and clean. TV didn't work for the kids but other than that it was great. Breakfast is basic but good!

Amazing staff with great customer service. Quiet. Centrally located in the middle of the Médina. Free breakfast was great. The excursion we booked was a lot of fun to the Atlas Mountains. Omar our guide was friendly.

Seems understaffed. Ordered dinner 2 nights, once dinner was served each evening the attendant never returned to offer beverage or desert. I asked prior to ordering services: massage and food, asked if I could use a credit card and when told yes. At check out was told no, until I said I had no money. This was true due bank card issues. My receipt from expedia stated taxes were included yet was charged by the front desk fees for said taxes. Perhaps If I spoke French the experience would be different. Not the morocan hospitality I've encountered elsewhere.

Nothing was too much trouble for the delightful staff. Mustapha was so gracious and helpful and always pleasant as were Magic and Ismael. We had breakfast on the roof terrace each morning with views over the Medina, while planning our day, and help was always on hand to help with maps and directions to places of interest. Excellent advice was to go in a shop to ask directions if lost rather than ask someone in the street, (and getting lost can happen a lot) or you’ll spend a long time on detours to various cousins’ shops. This was terrific value for such a lovely Riad which allows you to soak up the atmosphere of Marrakech whilst providing an oasis of tranquillity and peace after a day in the exciting but chaotic Medina. It was so restoring after a day wandering the Square, sights and market to sit by the pool and enjoy the flowers and scent of essential oils from the spa( we didn’t get around to trying the spa although it looked very inviting). We ate dinner in the hotel a couple of evenings and were very happy with our meal. Only one tiny comment that isn’t quite so positive is that the bathroom basin, whilst in keeping with the aesthetics, had a rough surface that didn’t clean easily; also the white plastic loo seat which somehow didn’t seem in place, was loose. However the whole experience was wonderful and would definitely return to Riad Shama.

Really enjoyed our time, staff were great, spa was lovely. Approx 20 minute walk to main square. Could do with some modernisation, bathroom was shabby, cushions round the pool and veranda are dated and marked, very minor things, don't let it put you off! Would recommend a visit.

Staff at the riad are friendly. But the room's condition is not very nice, some lights not working, so the room is dark. Far away from the central square, takes a long walk or much over-priced taxi to get there.
