a lovely property with the most amazing staff especially the manager Mr Peehann. Start with the property which was lovely, comfortable and clean with decent sized rooms. The hotel prepared a breakfast each morning with eggs but local pho was available. Additionally the coffee saffron was excellent. The property has a great pool where one can relax and even the cross river boat isn't running and there was no bamboo bridge - the hotel arranged a free taxi into town every day. As mentioned the staff were excellent - Mr Peehann went above and beyond every day - so much so that he even accompanied me to a local bank when I lost my card in the ATM one night. I cannot think of a hotel with better service. As a bonus the area around the hotel is quiet but a few nice bars and place s to eat nearby if you do not fancy town. we even ate in the hotel one evening - the food was great - local lao vegetarian Would stay here again and highly recommended.

What a lovely place. Nothing to criticise and everything to love. Beautiful setting by a branch of the mighty Mekong with a lovely pool, delightful breakfast and charming helpful staff. The British owner - Ivan - was very personable, interesting and helpful and all his team were terrific. He also owns the Apsaran on the other side of the river. He was in the wine business so he has a fantastic selection of reasonably priced wines - better than anything else we saw. The manager Han was brilliant. We had an excellent dinner there one night and it was like a private dining treat. The hotel is on the other side of the branch of the Mekong, so it is quiet and away from the noise of the centre, yet readily accessible to it, especially if you use the little shuttle boat that takes you across the river. The 50 or so steps down (and back up on the other side) to the "ferry" are steep, so if you are elderly or disabled you should take the longer way round by round. But that only costs about US$ 5 in a taxi / tuktuk. We'd stay there again, no question.

Han & staff provided truly excellent service throughout our stay. Rooms are quite spacious, comfortable and very clean. Restaurant staff knew after a single meal what our preferences were, & automatically brought everything we could want the next day. The garden & pool are very lovely. Only negative is the boat ride required to get from the hotel side of the river to the town side. The steps leading to & from the river on both sides are very steep, long and hard. Anyone of age or even slightly mobility-challenged couldn't possibly navigate the stairs; the boat engine also wouldn't start one day. The only alternative is a ~15 minute trip in a van or tuktuk (for a fee). This detracts from an otherwise excellent hotel with extremely good value.

This is an incredible impression or our experience in Laos. From the front desk manager's warm and customed service to the riverboat to sister hotel coordination and bicycle rental and breakfast quality, they are truly amazing!

The location of the property is very unique as it is across a small river from the main town. You reach the town by a small boat or bamboo bridge. It gives the property a very relaxed and quiet ambiance.

We really enjoyed our stay. The relaxing view of the river from our balcony the excellent service from the staff and the availability of excellent bicycles which we used to explore the area. Being on “the right bank” meant the hotel was very peaceful and every time we wanted to cross the river to town, the boat was readily available and there were no problems using it. WiFi was excellent and we had a wonderful dinner on our last night.

Absolutely excellent hotel. The staff couldn’t have done more to make our stay enjoyable. Best of both worlds as quiet location across the river from old town but easily accessed by their charming private boat available for free whenever needed.

Lovely boutique hotel. Very peaceful looking over the namkhan river in the evening from the room balcony. Got the small boat over to Luang Prabang daily. Not very suitable for those less mobile as the steps up and down to the river were huge. Lovely breakfast including croissant/pan au chocolate. Al up, a very nice hotel to be based at. Handy for the sights.

was nice to be on the quieter side of the river. I think that the hotel could look at a shuttle back into town as the steps to and from the boat were numerous and a bit steep and a problem for older clients or anyone with mobility issues. Otherwise it was great value for money, the food was excellent, the staff were friendly and rooms were lovley and spacious.

We had a wonderful stay! Don't be put off by the location, that added to the charm! We loved getting a 2 min boat ride across and the boat runs until midnight. It's also nice to be away from the busy part of town. There is also lovely bamboo bridge and we took full advantage of the free bikes. The staff were lovely we and very helpful too! the breakfast was also delicious!

This surely is no Ritz Carlton with well trained professional staff, but that's not the reason you should go to Lat Krabang. If you want guest service with a heart, a passion for service and a steep stairs down and up from the short boat river to where the action is will prompt you to a feeling of adventure, you found the right place. Sitting on your private balcony watching the reflection on the river of the last rays of sun dissipating into the evening, you might let your mind drift into believing that you are the guest of a colonial french timber trader's mansion.

Very good and peaceful hotel: charming with NO TV, No phone in the room. The staff is excellent and helpful.Crossing the hotel river by boat can be a fun, good feature for a few days, more than that it is irritating because of steep stairs that one has to navigate up and down. The Buddhists monks walk down the street in the morning at 6.30 with their chanting is a unique experience.

Mr Han and his team make this this a perfect place for a relaxing few days. This is a small hotel and so is v quiet. The views over to main part of city are great. When we visited, the bamboo bridge was jist being built, but boat service is so rasy and so mich fun, that was. Ot an issue

Nice, charming hotel across river from central tourist area of Luang Prabang. Excellent service. Can get to central tourist area via boat or nearby bridge over Namkhan river. Both routes involve going down long, moderately challenging, stairs to river on one side and up from the river on the other side. This may not be to everyone's taste or physical condition.
