A comfortable stay friendly owner and a good breakfast

Friendly welcome, well resourced room, really enjoyable breakfast.

I stayed for two nights as i was attempting a wedding. The room was as expected. Full English for breakfast on both mornings which set me up for the day

Super stay. Dave was fab and super welcoming.

Just one night ,used as a mid point stop .bed was comfortable,everything was in walking distance cooked breakfast was excellent ,fresh cooked

This wee stay was just what I needed. From agreeing to an early check in…to the best porridge I’ve had in years, it was just lovely. Granted, it is an old building, but it’s full of character, and while perhaps the water pressure isn’t as enthusiastic as some may like, there’s no rush, it’s easy to relax at The Old Rectory.

Lovely owner, very accommodating. Room was very spacious and homely. Breakfast was delicious. Only downside, water pressure in the shower was very low and had to run shower for a few minutes before the water warmed up. Presumably due to the town mains water pressure and out of the owners control. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Dave was a good host. Breakfast was cooked up for us in the morning and very comfortable. Recommend it.

Stayed here overnight, on first impression the room was very shabby, bedding very thin and stained headboards. The bathroom had a funny smell and shower pressure poor, all needs redecorating. Breakfast however was very good, nice quality sausage and bacon, had to ask for fruit juice though. The property is a short walk into the town, we had a nice meal at The Place on the high street. Check in time also a bit late.

stayed here for one night not the most up to date property could do with some refreshing shower no pressure could sweat more than shower gives out breakfast ok

Spacious room , very helpful host. Excellent value for money.

Lovely old house on the outskirts of town. Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean and comfortable. Wifi signal was very good. There was free on-street parking. Unlike so many places that pay lip service to vegans, the vegan breakfast was excellent and coffee was good!

Our room was very spacious and clean. The host was very helpful and pleasant. Cooked breakfast was very tasty. Parking was on the road wherever a space could be found. Would have preferred blackout curtains.

Lovely owner. Great breakfast. Comfortable room, a bit dated but excellent value for money. Only complaint was the water pressure in the shower was very low.

Lovely older property, house that was built when rooms were a good size, gave as good information about the area that made it easy to find somewhere to eat. Very nice

I very brief but enjoyable one night's stay followed by an excellent breakfast.

The owner, David, greeted me on my arrival. He was very helpful, friendly, offered important information about the town and the area. It was a very pleasant experience.
