Wasn't what was described.

The good: 1. The people were all absolutely wonderful. Our server in The Gatsby (Betty) was amazing. The bartender in The Center Bar (Cherrie) was so friendly and pleasant. All of the staff that we had interaction with were great. 2. The casino was fun. The table dealers were all friendly. The slots are fun and entertaining. We left down only a little bit, but that is expected. 3. The hotel is on site and convenient which is why we chose to go to Mountaineer rather than the other casinos nearby. 4. The food options were not bad with reasonable pricing. We were not expecting too much based on our experience at other casino restaurants, but we were pleased with our dinner at The Gatsby. The bad: 1. The hotel side is supposed to be the new and updated area, but our room was not in good condition. The sink would not drain, the tub was dirty, the room was simply not clean. It smelled like cigarette smoke (though the smoking section of the casino is on the opposite end of the building). The water in the shower was dripping constantly. 2. They tried to charge me the full amount because Expedia did not update the reservation as paid (this is not the hotel’s fault). Thankfully I heard that before he did it because it wasn’t a $200+ a night hotel and surely not worth double the price. Overall, I will still go back because of the people and the casino.

Great stay!

They absolutely NO late check out, so 11 am they knock on the door. It's really really expensive for what you get. Weekends are hectic since it's a casino ( the normal headaches of gamblers, alcohol and noise. Plus friday an sat the parking is a night mare. No laundry options. No breakfast like they advertise. You can go to casino part and buy a breakfast though. Staff is friendly. Bed was ok Plenty of extremely hot water

Mountaineer is our favorite casino! We were there for 80’s weekend!

Asked for a quiet room for a special occasion and they put us right across from the elevator. It was extremely loud with the guest traffic (being extremely loud late at night and early morning) and the constant elevator bells. Bathroom was disgusting, especially the toilet and shower. I feel like I should get a tetanus shot after staying there.

Very accommodating. Did not like that I had to pay extra for early check-in.

It was our first time visiting/staying at the casino/hotel. Check in was okay, not friendly, but not rude. The bell check man was very nice. The rooms was really large which I give it an A. However, the lighting was very dull, not bright at all. Dining options was very limited. Overall it was okay, but nothing exciting either. We won't return.

Beware they do not like people who do not book direct with them. They charged me an extra $20 fee on top of the charge with hotels.com so I ended up paying more

We had a group of ten, had a great time staff was able to get us all on the same floor. Great get away

The room i had had a loud noise like if the water pipes was going to bust through the wall could sleep...shower sprayed everywhere...casino nice....dont recommended...
