Staff is amazing

I enjoyed my stay here and I do think I will come back because it was soo much fun. However, I had to change my room key everyday because it would not work after one successful entry to my room. The staff are not friendly (no hospitality at all) I wanted to tip but I didn’t see the need too. There was two guys who was extremely friendly however; I was unable to catch up with one of him when I was leaving the property. Light brown skin security. And the other was a black colored male who was dancing around the pool and with the Dj (this dude has real customer services skill and I was so impressed. The dining room at closed to the beach had a foul odor and made it uncomfortable for me to eat in so I went to the other one (this scent was there my entire stay) the food was great and the steak was the bomb.

The food was not good although there was a variety of options.

My wife and i went for 4 days without the kiddos. Hotels is beautiful and party in the pool is nice as well as the bartenders. Now the issue is the food, its not that good and the specialty restaurants are basic and food and service its not good. Servers are just standing in groups of 3 or 4 dancing and talking and are not attentive and most of them are not happy to be there. Japaness reataurant needs to close down.

Ceilings are cracked and painted over (looks scary). Room key didn’t work, had to visit front desk 5 times until they sent a technician. Overall, food was absolutely not good and drinks were low shelf items. Resort did not have higher end food or alcohol. DJ’s switch genres every song, hard to enjoy a nice moment. App and workers were not on the same page with RIU parties , received a lot of conflicting information. Pool was great, property outside was clean, and beach was amazing.

El personal de servicio de habitación muy amable. El mesero Ignacio excelente. Carismático, servicial, respetuoso y muy atento con todos. Que no me gustó...El hotel en comparación con otro no era lo qué esperaba. Es un hotel para adultos pero la realidad es un hotel de mucha algarabía, muchacheria y descontrol. Poca o ninguna seguridad visible. Una discoteca extremadamente pequeña para la cantidad de huespedes que hospedan y el hotel tan inmenso que es. Vasos por donde quiera, mantenimiento de piscinas deficientes. Solo se pudo utilizar la piscina que queda para el ala nueva la cual se estaba Vaciando y llenaron al siguiente día. Las piscinas adicionales que utilizaban los jóvenes o aquellas personas que estaban cerca de la música El agua se mantuvo turbia oscura y con burbujas. Cabe señalar que se preguntó por el gerente de turno debido a que la habitación asignada tenía un olor fuerte a humedad el aire acondicionado no funcionaba y no había agua en la habitación las paredes de los pasillos sucias , elevadores deprimente . En la recepción en ningún momento orientan al huésped de que hay dos alas en el hotel una de algarabía , musica y otra de un poco más de tranquilidad simplemente asignaron las habitaciones y ya. Cabe señalar que en este hotel hay que tener mucho cuidado ya que los pasillos no están alumbrados muchas áreas oscuras donde no hay seguridad.

The property was clean, staff was nice and friendly, however the property is old and some out dated. We had issues with our room, the ac unit was leaking from the ceiling and a puddle of water appeared on the floor, maintainer did come and fix the issue and the next night the chain in the back of the Toilet kept coming off when we flushed no one never came to fix that issue

I would recommend RIU Republic to anyone that is looking for a party. Almost every day there is a party. The food is decent. My room was clean and I had hot water and air. There is as much liquor as you want. There is a liquor bar in your room. The only negative is the room smells funny and the water stinks. We bought a candle for the smell because we watched video reviews and we bought body wash and perfume to make sure we smelled good. It over all we had a great time! We ate everyday! The steak house and the Italian restaurants were really good. Lastly DO NOT DRINK THE WATER! Do not brush your teeth with the water. It will make you sick. They give you bottled water every day. USE IT. RIU Republic is a wonderful place to stay and we had a great time. Staff was very kind.

Beautiful beaches, fun resort whether you want a quiet time, or party time there's something for everyone

It’s a pretty property. Shame they don’t care for it better. The attitude from the staff and the litter blowing around the lobby at check-in are unfortunate but it was downhill from there. Didn’t have water 3rd morning. Toilet broke the last day. TV didn’t work on arrival. To say the food selection at the buffet was average is extremely generous - Soggy french fries at every station for dinner?! Otherwise it was bland, mislabeled, overcooked, nightly repeats of the same unseasoned soups, mushy vegetables, soggy pastas and mystery dishes. So I tried the Indian restaurant-ordered quinoa tofu-it came barely room temperature, no tofu and very cold tomato chunks. Asked about the tofu, the gentleman shrugged said no tofu and walked away. So I mostly stuck to fruit at breakfast & from the dessert bar at dinner. After the trip, I found out the week prior there was no power for 3 days and no water for a day and a half. So I could’ve done better research but the pools are lovely and they’re generous with towels. My goal was to relax, get a tan and read a book with a beautiful view…and I was able to do that.

The facilities were unclean and unkept. There were bugs in the bathroom. The air conditioning was lackluster. Our room key cards stopped working every day. It The service was terrible. The staff was rude. The food was mediocre at best. Some food was burnt while some was undercooked. The pool was dirty. The water was so murky that you couldn’t see your legs and yet no one cleaned them.

Everything perfect, but the smoke of cigarette everywhere.

The staff that work at the buffet had great customer service, friendly and helped at anytime specially Frandy and Franklin great!!!

Bedbugs I got bitten up phone didn’t work and I reported it and the table top was broken and I reported it and they never fixed it

The Riu Republica had a lot of food to choose from, large pools. Swim up bars are Excellent. Only down side is the air conditioning not working properly in 1 of 3 of our rooms. All in all, I would definitely go back. Do the Sharkys Catamaran Tour!!!!!

We had a great experience overall. The cleaning staff and some of the other staff were kind and welcoming. My husband and I did not like the food options. We are from the Dominican Republic and the food that was served was not an authentic food choices from the Dominican Republic. Over all we had a great experience with the tours and excursions.
