This hotel is a one floor building the rooms are situated where the restaurant, bar and reception are. Our room was directory to the street on one side and right outside of our door was the reception, two full nights of not sleeping due to the noise either from the street or the reception and restaurant.

My mom and I had a great experience at this hotel. The area was perfect, it was super close to the center of the city and near many restaurants and shops. The front desk staff, Manuel and Cristian were super helpful and made sure our stay was comfortable. The rooms were super cozy and we loved the rustic feel. Will definitely be staying here again!

I did not get the room I requested. They moved me to a family room at the same price which was okay, but not what was expected. The bed is extremely comfortable. Food is great.

Good location, near Zocalo, however very noisy. Missing window in my room, I have not been able to sleep the first night due to street noise. Next day, I've informed the reception, when I came back during the night, window was still not fixed.

When we arrived at our hotel, we were a little put off because although we phoned ahead and said we would be arriving on the midnight bus and assured all would be well, we had to ring about a dozen times before someone arrived from the amping building. However we were shown to our charming casita. It was cold in the room but after turning on the heater, and with the help of an extra blanket we felt comfortable. The bed was wonderful - the best we have had in our 3 week trip! The casita sits in a private area in a lovely garden and has a nice hanging chair from which to relax and enjoy nature. It is called an art hotel for a reason - unique light fixtures, lamps and even bathroom taps! We loved it - rustic and chic at the same time,, The staff were very accommodating and helpful. We originally had a reservation for 3 nights, but liked San Cristóbal so much we wanted to extend our stay for another 2 nights. Unfortunately they were about to begin a 2 month renovation and could not extend us. But they lined us up with a sister hotel just around the corner and we were very please with the ease of moving to another lovely location.

Our short stay in lovely San Cristobal was marred by two things. One, the bathroom (which was open to the rest of the room in the modern style, and without a curtain or frosted glass) smelt bad and because it was 'in' the main room we couldn't escape the smell. Two, and much more problematically, the hotel had one of its apparently regular performance nights on when we were there, which are held in the courtyard from where all the rooms are accessed. This wasn't an issue when a stand up comic was on, but was unbearable when ridiculously loud dance music was played until late into the night. This was so loud that when the music finally did stop, our ears were ringing with tinnitus. When I complained, the staff were friendly but explained that they couldn't do anything as it was "an art hotel" (which reading other negative reviews seem to be their catch-all excuse). This would be fair enough if the hotel website gave any indication that guests at their raves got priority over paying hotel guests, or if this were explained at check in, but neither of these were the case. So effectively our room could not be used as a hotel room (relaxing, reading, sleeping, etc) from about 8pm until nearly midnight. This was a shame as otherwise the hotel seemed nice in general and in a great location. My advice: whatever you do, call before you book and make sure one of these performance nights are not on.

The staff is great and very accommodating. Only downside is the water pressure, but is expected in San Cristobal. You cannot beat it for the price and location.
