We stayed here for a week. The cleaning staff were amazing, always checking to see if we need anything.

Very friendly staff.

Very firm bed. Minimal items in room. Excellent deal overall. Good food (ask for meal ticket the day before you will eat). Seems to be very popular with local police (was good).

The hotel is located in very quiet neighborhood, 5 minutes from old part of the City.

Re muy seguro para las personas y sus vehículos, y queda muy cerca a paseo Montejo. No me gustó el será de comedor, es muy incómodo, y no dan buenas opciones.

I choose this hotel specifically because it has the Bath Tub in room. When I arrive to the hotel NONE of the rooms have this option.. but I had already traveled all the way here so I committed. Two other major problems aside from the hotel lying about an amenity they didn’t have. The AC did not work! Uncomfortable all night The Hot water wasn’t HOT!! couldn’t even shower... at least there wasn’t bugs in the bet.

Nice little rooms but the beds are BAD, too hard. Mattresses and pillows are really bad quality.

The staff was extremely hepful and just amazing. The rooms are clean and omfortable. Would highly recommend.

This is a completely bare bones hotel. If you have no other options, I suppose you could survive, but if you want to be comfortable: choose anywhere else. Stains on the curtains, toilet wouldn't flush (and not repaired), no water available in the ENTIRE hotel (told to walk several blocks to convenience store), bed was like a brick and nothing but white cement walls. Not surprisingly, they wouldn't refund my second night.

la ubicacion esta muy bien, pero nos quedamos sin agua! todo el hotel por horas, no nos resolvian en cambiarnos de habitacion porque nos urgia salir. despues solo salia agua fria y sucia.no dejan toallas de mano.

Great clean hotel with breakfast for a very inexpensive stay great area. Only thing is there is no towels in the room you have to ask at the reception. I totally recommend this hotel!

Great place and very close to the scenic Paseo Montejo and also near the route to Puerto Progreso. The room was very spacious and comfortable. Only issue i had was the a/c unit from the initial room given to me. For those folks that are not fans of humidity overnight, you may have to test out the ac unit prior to fully accepting the room.

It was a bit noisy and there is no hot water but it was quick, cheap, and the AC works great.

Easy location, close from points of interest, and people are so friendly!

Everything es ok excepto hot Water

My husband and I loved everything about our stay at Hotel Zar except for one issue- there's no privacy in the bathroom. The bathroom has a glass door that doesn't reach the ceiling or the floor and there's no fan to muffle the noise. We ended up throwing a towel over the door and turning on the shower when we were using the bathroom so that we had at least a little privacy. For married couples that's probably fine, but I wouldn't recommend staying in the same room with someone who's just a friend.

Very nice, clean hotel, but not walking distance to the colonial attractions. Great place to stay if you have a car.

The staff was very helpful with some issues we had that were not hotel related. We were very comfortable, but would rather have been in a more central location. Unfortunately, nothing was available.
