The Heritage is honestly one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. The staff are really friendly and helpful, and they also speak great English. The building and the rooms are beautiful, as are the grounds.

The hotel is charming yet modern. The food at the property is delicious. The breakfast is extensive. I had a fantastic stay.

A very beautiful property, professionally managed and very competent and helpful staff. They really knew how to get things done and made some complicated travel plans possible for me.

A beautiful property and a manger overseeing breakfast was very helpful. A decent selection for breakfast.

A truly historic place in Kalaw. Great buildings and a very beautiful garden. Super friendly staff and great food and drinks. Compared to the overall status of the property, the rooms are pretty basic, though.

There was a very cold welcome to the property as if I should have felt privileged to be staying there. The rooms were nice but looked very clinical with white blank walls. The WiFi was truly shocking and so many guests complained about this. They turned the WiFi off during the night which is not good for when you need to make an early morning conference call. The restaurant felt very uninviting. The room was over lit and the service was of a low standard. The food served was poor and I got served a dish that was stale and spoilt, which was promptly returned to the kitchen. There is a settlement next door to the hotel and they were playing very loud music and chanting at 4am so it was a very restless night. The hotel has its own taxi service who charge you 3x the cost of a local taxi. Overall, I had high expectations of this hotel but was disappointed. Although the waiting staff were pleasant the managers were not. The food was very disappointing and overpriced.

Heavenly! Everything is great at this hotel! It is surrounded by the terrain of mountains and very cool as it is locqted so high up. The facade of the hotel is really iconic and truly a heritage hotel. The staff were very helpful and attentative. The rooms are very tastefully furnished with a few antique looking touches. If i really have to find any fault, suggest the hotel to look into the speed of the wifi and convert the tennis court into an alfresco dinning area as it is blessed with such a wonderful surrounding.

Lovely historical tudor house with past colonial zest in the heart of Myanmar mountains. Charming staff, cool manager.

For history buffs or those who love decaying colonial grandour, this is the place. Stunnning gardens, bespoke buildings, and great food nestled in the Kalaw Hills. Truly a spectacular, one of a kind place. Very clean with basic rooms that match the price point. We just loved it.

Beautiful colonial hotel with excellent service. While it appears recently renovated and is impeccably clean, there is something stiff about the furniture and not much space indoors or outdoors to relax in comfortably. It is perhaps in an effort to stay authentic to the history. You definitely need to visit the elephants while there!

We spent 4 days in Kalaw, during Thingyan holiday and the Kalaw Heritage Hotel was an oasis of peace and quiet during this normally hectic time. The breakfast menu was the best we have experienced anywhere in Myanmar, and the service in general was fantastic.

A colonial building well maintained and decorated, a cosy bar. A little out of town about a 15min walk. Had tennis court. Small celebration for New Year’s Eve. The staff were a little disorganised but it added to the fun.

The property was much more beautiful than expected, and was on an impressive piece of land, that is nicely landscaped. This hotel has a great legacy, having been founded in 1903, but it does mean creaky falls. But the downside really was the 24x7 chanting by monks in the area. This happens in the month before the water festival and can drive you crazy when trying to sleep at night. If you avoid this month, you would be very satisfied.

Beautiful grounds, clean, very helpful staff, good breakfast. A bit far from downtown. The only problem for us was the stiff matress.

We stopped here to break up long VIP bus ride from Began. Roadway seems under construction most of the way so next year maybe not one way and so bumpy. Hotel restored, our room appointed with hardwood furniture, great views from hilltop in quiet neighborhood about 25 minute walk to town. You will want to walk because while we have found bike rentals from free to a couple dollars for the day they quoted us 25000 kyat, almost $18 per hour.

Totally overpriced hotel. Room was freezing due to lack of isolation windows. Hot air heater provided wasn't enough. Clean room. They charge for everything. Downtown is 15-20' walk and they charge for lift to town (property was empty). Power cuts and hot water shortage. Nice hotel for Myanmar but not worth the money. Breakfast was above average.

This is the oldest hotel in Kalaw and has recently been restored. It has a lot of charm and friendly staff. The rooms are sparsely fitted mostly with the period furniture. It has pleasant gardens and a tennis court. The bar and restaurant could perhaps do with a bit of work to make them a bit more welcoming, but this is still the most atmospheric hotels in the town.
