Beautiful property that is well maintained. Darren makes you feel right and home and was very responsive and informative about the surrounding area. Will stay there again when in Mena.

Darren was so welcoming with great information on places to eat and places to go in the area. He was also informative about the history of the house. Amazing assortment of coffee, teas, and things to add to them. Blueberry muffins were divine!! The house itself was beautiful, and they upgraded our room. Highly recommend!!

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Sassafras Inn! Darren, the owner was super-welcoming and offered so much more than we ever expected. He was a wonderful wealth of information about restaurants and things to see and do in the area. His wife made wonderful blueberry streusal muffins that our entire family loved. The rooms were very comfy as well. We will definitely be coming back one day!

The owner is exceedingly knowledgeable of the restaurants, history and connections of the area. He and his wife clearly love what they do and Darren is an excellent blueberry muffin maker.

Darren, the homeowner and innkeeper, met us at the door to this lovely home/inn. He welcomed us with a smile and conversation about the history behind Sassafras Inn and Mena, We sat and visited for about an hour. Our suite was extremely large, (2 rooms), complete with coffee and refrigerator. He then provided us with his homemade, organic blueberry muffins that were to die for. Very cozy atmosphere and a soft bed was just the remedy for a long day in the road. Highly recommend this wonderful place. Will stay again!!

Sassafras Innis a beautiful home that invites sitting on the porch. Our room was actually 2 rooms with a bathroom. One room had twin beds and the other was the master with bathroom. Lots of space, comfortable bed and pillows. Very clean and homey. Darren and Jillian are wonderful hosts. Darren shared his love of history while Jillian (The Gingered Baker) checked us in. The baked goods were delicious. Absolutely a must-stay if in the area.

First and foremost, Darren and Jillian are wonderful! They are incredibly friendly and accommodating. Darren went out of his way to recommend surrounding restaurants in the area. Jillian has a baking business, and they offer free goodies she bakes at the grab n go coffee area! We didn’t get to try too many as the other guests thoroughly enjoyed what she put out, but what we did was amazing! The house itself is beautiful and furnished with antiques, which is always a plus for a history lover. We booked the Veranda room. It was a smallish room with a king bed (which was super comfortable, best sleep I’ve ever gotten traveling). The bathroom is outside of the bedroom, but it’s in an offset hallway. The bathroom was spacious and clean, and the toilet paper even had one of the cute little stamps imprinted in it. The veranda/balcony is right off of the bedroom and is stunning. The house was a little cold, but it was no problem as the bedroom has a space heater! Overall, the stay was comfortable and relaxing.

I was in a bind without a single hotel in Mena, AR having a vacancy. When I called, Mr. O'Bannon was extremely helpful in working with me to fit my trip into their available vacancies. The hosts were very thorough in explaining how to access the bed 'n breakfast and my room upon arrival. The accommodations were impeccably clean. Many of the furnishings in the the inn were antiques, and the style of decorating was charming, making one feel at home. I found the hosts very easy to engage in conversation, and I enjoyed several opportunities to compare lives and travel. Mr. O'Bannon is very knowledgeable of history and had many stories to share. Mrs. O'Bannon also runs a made-to-order bakery in the inn - many times I arrived to a pleasant aroma of freshly-baked goods coming from the kitchen. Both hosts were eager to make sure that I was comfortable with the accommodations and checked several times to see if I needed anything. I was made to feel like a part of the "family" at the inn, and I enjoyed meeting their pets. All in all, it was a very pleasant and comfortable stay that I had at the Sassafras Inn, and I highly recommend it for your stay!

It was a very unique stay. We felt like home. We stayed in the magnolia suite with plenty of space and a coffee bar en suite. The people are just heartwarming and VERY caring. I hope we can come back - I adore the bakery in house and wish all the best luck in the world that it will be a great success.

This home is just beautiful. The host could not have been kinder or more accomdating. We had a late arrival and he was kind enough to find a restaurant open for us. Darren had wonderful instructions for parking, entrance and utilization of the home. The bathrooms were well equipped. We will definitely stay again. Thank you!

The hosts were so friendly and attentive. They are still involved with a few renovation projects but it didn’t impact our stay. We were just a one night stay. We would recommend this Inn for other travelers.
