Excellent room, excellent food, excellent people. Lovely stay!!

Great little place for an overnight stop. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. Room was compact, but clean and quiet.

Very very limited menu, rooms are very small, and the toilet is inside a cupboard door?.

Stayed with dog for one night before doing a long distance walk over to ulswater. Wasn’t able to leave my car on car Park for an extra day till I could return for it. Had to buy a 3 day pass to park in grasmere at an additional cost of £20.20.Had to pay £10 extra for the dog which I didn’t mind paying but after paying full breakfast price for myself and only opting for a bowl porridge would even let me order an extra sausage for the dog.

A nice bijou room tastefully decorated, comfortable and clean. Would definitely stay again. Breakfast was very good too. We had an evening meal at night and would highly recommend booking ahead too.

This is a very welcoming hotel. Ample on site parking and super dog friendly. Everyone of the staff delivered a high standard of customer service. Food is excellent. We stayed in a standard sized room which was very clean and comfortable. I will return but next time I will go for a larger room as I found the standard sized room bathroom a bit small for my large size frame ( I’m over six feet tall. ).

Lovely facilities and great atmosphere. Easy check in/out and clean room. The only issue I had was that the room itself was very cold throughout the night. But I did make the booking fairly last minute so it’s possible this was an oversight.

Wonderful Westmorland hospitality. Nice real fire in the Bar, so welcome on an Autumn evening. Chats with local regulars. Beautiful room. Excellent menu and eventual meal plus brilliant choice of wine with no overpricing. Excellent breakfast to complete our visit.

Have stayed hear twice yearly for past 3 years but sadly found the room this time looked quite shabby in places & needing upgrade - especially in shower room Sad as i liked this place

Beautiful place to stay in a very beautiful area of the Lake District. Room was perfect staff and service was amazing. Food was also lovely will definitely be staying again when I visit the area

The welcome was good, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The room had everything in it we needed, but was rather tired, and the bathroom needed some minor repairs. The water was hot whenever we needed it. The food was excellent.

Pub was amazing. Food was first class. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Service all around was really amazing. Would definitely recommend to friends and family ❤️
